Election Aftermath

The cops were not primarily secondarily or tertiaryly responsibility for the riots because they beat Rodney King.

I think Michamp introduced the next level, maybe it was quadrarily I don?t know.

Then I linked to a list words that mean from 5 to 10, and there was another word for 12

Is there a word on that list that describes the cops degree of culpability for the riots? Yeah, probably.

How about the camera guy?

read the whole post dummy - she's saying she was spreading fliers about the program "in her community." She lives in a community where 2 bedroom apartments cost $830k and the median house price is over $3mm. It doesn't benefit people in her actual community and I'd bet anything she didn't drop a single flier there or in the district she represents, which is not the district where she lives. Why has it taken this long for you to figure this out? Goodness you are dumb.

also, her rank in the top 50 is yet another straw man. Most of the people ahead of her on the list made their money before they were in congress. What matters is how her wealth has changed since becoming a member of Congress. Not surprising that you also need that explained to you.

Also, this policy doesn't really benefit poor people as much as you think and it benefits corporations more than you think. It's another subsidy that creates a dependent class and like other welfare benefits, it has the effect of driving wages down so the corporations you hate so much can pay less for unskilled labor.

seems possible to me to spread fliers to anyone, regardless of their income level or net worth... I dunno. Maybe CA has a law against spreading fliers to people that advocate child tax credits in communities where the avg. home value is $3MM? Is that why you'd bet she hasn't spread any fliers there?

and if she's been in congress since 1991, when salaries were $98K, and have increased to $179K in 2009, her wealth of $2-$3 MM seems perfectly reasonable.

"most corrupt" implies to me that she's heavily on the take, not just that she collects her salary and engages in some of the run-of-the-mill insider trading they all do.

words have to mean something.

Hell, based on her net worth, she might be one of the least corrupt members of congress, assuming corruption means "taking bribes" not just "being a democrat who has political views Republican guys don't like"

This is possibly the dumbest thing you've ever posted here and that's saying a lot.

Words do have to mean something, but you can't make dumb people understand what they mean. And if you equate "net worth" with corruption to the exclusion of all other evidence and determine Maxine isn't corrupt because others have more money than her, you are a stupid person who doesn't understand the meaning of those words.

See, it's possible to be both stupid and corrupt. Look at Bernie Sanders - he used his position to strong arm banks to make ill-advised loans to the university his wife ran based on fraudulent donor commitments she made up. That's blatant corruption, but the Sanders didn't actually get rich off it. Well, not that rich. Jane did receive a $200k payout when she was fired after the fraudulent donor commitments she made up didn't materialize and the university went bankrupt under an unsustainable debt burden she saddled it with through her fraud with assistance from her corrupt husband. So maybe you should consider other means of determining who is corrupt other than simply looking at who has the most money. For example, why would liberal watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington name Maxine Waters 5 times in their annual report on DC corruption? They must not be setting their net worth floor high enough.

You might not like their politics, but if they're not personally benefitting from them, they're not corrupt.

From Merriam-Webster

Corrupt

1. a Morally degenerate and perverted
b characterized by improper conduct (such as bribery or the selling of favors)

I don't believe a person has to personally benefit from an action to be corrupt. A politician could do something immoral that benefits someone else, or another entity, and still be corrupt. Giving a huge government contract to a friend or family member that didn't earn or deserve it would be corrupt in my book.

LOLOLOLOL, that's the dumbest thing you've ever said on here. Failing to benefit personally because your schemes are dumb or because they're for your spouses benefit instead of yours means you're not corrupt. That's f'n hilarious - I'm literally laughing out loud right now. Also, not all of Maxine Waters corrupt schemes were failures. Read about all the campaign money she funneled to her daughter.

Also, I looked up that word and I do not think it means what you think it means. No mention of any requirement that the corruption has to personally benefit the person committing it. LOLOLOLOL. You just can't help stepping in piles of your own shit, can you? Jeez, you are dumb.

today I learned that political corruption just means "a democratic politician who does things" and not "a politician who is on the take" or "personally profits from their position"

thanks guys for clearing that up for me. I learn so much from you all.

dear diary, today I dug myself into another hole I couldn't get out of so I posted some more straw man arguments to win the internets again. Sincerely, MC.

This is me (shows utility bill) :lmao:

Can married couples and unwed cohabitators get a joint utility bill? I wonder what a married couple with adult children in the house do at election time. Is it cheaper and more convenient to get 4 meters installed on your house than to endure the hardship and racist oppression that we all know goes with obtaining a state issued photo IDs. I'm sure it's more convenient based on what I've read on DSF - getting a photo ID is tougher than 2 tours in Fallujah.

we all know how reliable and accurate utility bills are. I've been married for 23 years and our gas bill is still in my wife's maiden name...and we've moved 3 times since we got married.

Jeez... someone with your wife's maiden name could totally steal your gas bill out of your mailbox and use her identity to go vote for a democrat, and then our country would be like all fucked up, not teh great country it is now.

we all know you're a little slow on the uptake but the point here is his wife couldn't use their utility bill to vote since the name won't match the voter registration. Also, it sounds like updating your utility bill is almost as hard as the nearly impossible task of getting a state issued ID, so you should probably be opposed to requiring that as well especially since it probably affects minority communities disproportionately.

I've only been married 12 years and we've moved 3 times but I think the utility bill has always been in my name. I plan to keep it that way just to make it that much harder for my wife to vote. Hopefully, in 11 years I will still be saying we've moved 3 times - moving sucks even if the utility company gets your name right.
