Election Aftermath

Yes, this would be satisfactory, for the most part. Except that my daughter lives several miles from even the main road that takes her to the tiny town she lives in. She’d have to drive somewhere.
you heard him: no exceptions. She's walking.

Unless she lives in Alaska, it's not too cold anywhere in this country in early November.

And even in Alaska, global warming will change that before too long. They'll have pleasant walks to the local polling place, in 60F sunny weather.

Appearing in person and completing a vote on paper is by nature secure.

agreed and again, I support the idea. I just don't think it will ever happen.

When the Republicans win a mail-in general election, the Democrats will most assuredly claim ?voter fraud? and the Republicans will vehemently deny that voter fraud occurred.

No doubt and no doubt there will be no serious investigation of it and there will be people on both sides saying 'don't pay attention to the conspiracy theorists, ignore all the evidence, I mean, there is no evidence. This was the most secure election in our history.' and there will be people on the winning side quoting those politicians on FB and twitter and sites like this one.

I'll take it a step farther, gerrymandering would really be more effective if everyone was required to walk from their homes to their polling location. That seems even more natural and I see nothing that discriminates by race if you ask people to walk.

maybe not, but it's clearly anti-differently abled bigotry.

There is a huge pig farm across her road. That would be an appropriate place to stage a voting precinct. I expect she’d walk anyway.

Alaskans are used to walking, so they’d think nothing of it.

I can be talked into a plan for exceptions related to ability, but I'm not sure on the details. Got to avoid it becoming a loophole.

like at Disney where wealthy people hire handicapped "guides" so their families can skip the lines on the rides?

don't forget to make sure your exceptions don't disadvantage anyone based on race or gender.

Yeah, or people who could do it arguing that they can't do it because of the distance, which I've already established is the whole point.

the guides need to be handicapped? I've heard it's just a matter of paying for a guide. They openly market it. A single search lead right to it.

I visited Legoland in SD a couple years ago with my kids, and I remember having the option to pay for a private tour guide (and the right to skip lines was part of the offer) for something like $50/hour or $400. That seemed unnecessary to me.

Either way, there's nothing wrong with the practice, right? The wealthy obviously worked way harder than you or I to afford those privileges... why not let them take advantage of it?

If we have to wait in line a little longer with our own kids so that our Social and Economic Superiors can cut to the front with their little brats, who are we to complain?

Last time we took our youngest son to Cedar Point they offered a thing called "speed pass". He and his cousins went into the park (the adults didn't). We went for 2 days and I think the "speed pass" was an extra $75 per day. He said it was well worth it...never a wait longer than 15 minutes even for the really good/new rides. Plus they got to go in an hour early because we were staying in the marina.

Last time I went to Cedar Point was my freshman year of high school.

My mom and my friend's mom heard there was a freshman trip, and more or less made us go. I didn't want to because I hated roller coasters, and amusement parks, and none of my other friends were going and said it was lame.

Anyways, it sucked. and then on the way back, around 9 PM, the bus broke down just outside Sandusky, and we had to sit in a hot, humid, dark, bus, with 30 other 15 year-old guys all yelling and talking shit to eachother for 3 hours, as they sent another bus from Southfield or wherever to pick us up and drive us back to the Detroit burbs.

That doesn't sound like a fun trip. I used to love going there when I was a kid.

This is what I’m talking about... wealthy people hiring handicap people who can take up to 6 guests to a different shorter line.

I don’t really have a problem with Disney or Cedar Point selling a speed pass that anyone can buy. That’s not exploiting a loophole. Whether someone worked harder than you or not isn’t the issue.

Me too and I’m looking fwd to taking my kids there on our way to our annual vacation on Lake Michigan. We've been waiting until all our kids are tall enough to go on all the rides so this year will be their first trip to CP and I haven't been in at least 20 years.

Don't worry. Almost all of them are empty gestures intended to placate the left, and amount to little, if anything, in practice.

If you thought the country was in good shape, and therefore needed Biden to destroy it, you can rest easy tonight.

Owen Shroyer is on to something. Now that some on the left don't have trump to blame everything on, not going to rule out the possibility in time, the far right and far left can come together and stand against the NWO plandemic covid1984 Chicom take over. Have to hope anyway, hope is all anyone really has in the end. Keep hope alive! nobody really likes Biden Who's really running the country? Susan Rice? Nancy? Chuckles the clown?

AOC's reply to Cruz was a bit mellow dramatic. good grief move over ding bat Nancy.

That's doubtful.

There is economic common ground between the two groups.

The Far Right would need to start there - with class & income identity- and disavow the conspiracy theory stuff. Or at least keep it out of their politics.

And I think it's safe to say the KKK, Neo-nazi, and White Supremacist groups are "Far Right" by just about everyone's standards. Note: I'm not saying everyone on the Far RIght is a racist, but these groups are on the Far Right, they exist, and they are racist. In order for there to be common ground, those beliefs and principles have to be disavowed.

If the Far Right can do these things, then I think common ground is possible. But the center will do everything it can to foment conflict between them though.

Now a days under the current Orwellian cancel culture society, MSM/FANG controlled social media brainwashing divide and concur operations, any conservative that doesn’t care much for the views of those in the old guard like mittens Romney or Richard dick Cheney’s daughter, is considered far right! I’m considered far right just because I posted on Parler FFS

Those other groups you listed I’d consider white trash. I don’t really feel those groups are nearly as large and common place as the narratives keep telling everyone is. That center you suggest foments isn’t the center. It’s the chicom and global eugenist doing most of that.
