Election Aftermath

oh, right... Biden's "more left of center" and so you're not saying he's a socialist, just that he idolizes socialists, because he put a statue of one somewhere.

I don't know how you square that with him being known as "the Senator from MBNA" for much of his political career but I guess you'll find a way...

here we go again...I'll type this slowly, try to keep up...

I'm saying the fact that he put a bust of a socialist who made derogatory comments about illegal immigrants is a massive contradiction to the woke narrative he's trying to communicate. Chavez should be cancelled for his comments about "wetbacks." It's also probably necessary to point out, for your benefit, the fact that Biden is using a bust of a person who vehemently opposed illegal immigrants as a symbol for his stated goal of granting citizenship to 11mm illegal immigrants (the true number is probably closer to 2x that). It should be painfully obvious that such Chavez would oppose such a move, but it's not at all surprising that this needs to be explained to you.

It's also very telling that he put a bust of a socialist in the oval office considering socialism is antithetical to the founding principles of the country he is now the President of. That, along with his order to force schools to allow athletes to compete as the agenda they identify with, while not making him a socialist, definitely indicates he may be more left of center than we're led to believe. The fact that he was beholden unto corporate interests for his multi-decade career doesn't make him a capitalist or even less left of center.

A so you can be beholden to corporate interests for decades, but still "left of center"... how left of center though?

I think this is Gulo's bit with you, where you guys argue over subjective units of measurement, until he actually gets his (metaphorical) ruler out, and then you start claiming it was a joke he didn't get and you were just being sarcastic.

Yes, I don't see how this is even a question worth asking.

That's not how it's ever played out. This and your previous posts in this thread today are just more of your usual BS where you make up something I didn't say or insist I meant something I didn't say it so you can argue against it. Just more of your typical reframing, moving the goal posts, ad hominem, name calling, etc.

"ad hominem" means the same thing as "name calling"

So - for spartanmack's sake - why would "socialist" Biden be in their club, but the actual socialist Bernie Sanders not be?

I'm stunned that you don't see it when you identified one reason why yourself.

Link

Bernie's campaign was dismantled by Democrats in 2016 and 2020 and it's still not obvious?

They wanted the guy who was beholden to corporate interests, which was not Bernie, though both are "leftists"... but to a degree that is not possible to quantify and not arguable or even worthy of discussion, and the real problem with Bernie is apparently his personal habits and hygiene.

FWIW - I've met Bernie before and been to speeches of his a couple times in person - once at the UChicago, his alma mater, & noted bastion of left wing thought, which was giving him a lifetime achievement award - and didn't notice any such issues, but what do I know?

Is it true?

Was he like, filthy, and did he stink?

no, it doesn't. ad hominem is attacking someone's character or motive rather than the substance of the argument they're making - not the same as name calling, dummy.

speculation on my part - he was kicked out of a hippie commune for being too lazy (and insufferable) and his first wife left him shortly after he moved her into a shack with a dirt floor because he didn't have a job and couldn't afford to rent a real house. My money says he was probably pretty smelly. His hygiene has probably improved since he became an unaccomplished government bureaucrat who never had a real job before being elected mayor of Burlington, VT - at the age of 40.

Edit: and for the record, I'm sure you're aware but want to mention for the benefit of other posters, his personal habits and hygiene are not the real issue with Bernie. I'm far more concerned about and opposed to his politics than his bathing habits.

the funny thing about this is you're being sarcastic and think it's actually not true. The first time in a long time you've gotten something right and it was by accident.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/a...y-clark-justice-department-trump-coup/617818/

A point is made here that Trump's current impeachment trial focuses too much on the Capitol breach and not enough on his asking to find 11,870 votes in Georgia and his thwarted plan to to replace the DOJ acting attorney general with someone that would follow his order to push the evidence of fraud narrative.

And his attempts to coerce and cajole the Vice-President to violate his Constitutional obligation and his attempt to subvert the Constitutional authority of the co-equal legislative branch.

There?s that.

This impeachment was rushed and ill-constructed.

I'm not surprised when Pelosi gets it wrong, but why didn't Harris step in? Tell them "Ja'Impeachment needs some work."

What? NO WAY! Pelosi would NEVER do something rushed or ill-constructed. How dare you! LOL
