Election

I think Bill only hated Southern railroads.

Though He didn't have much use for Northern ones either... the Christian god gave his troops feet to walk on, and plenty of Georgia slave owners to plunder food from. Best things the Christian god ever did, IMO.

You misconstrue. WTS was an advocate of railroads, to the detriment of the Indians displaced by them.

Oh. yeah, I knew he and Sheridan and I guess Grant weren't very accommodating to native Americans.

Such cherished memories Election Day brings back.

No wonder they coincide with the beginning of the holiday season every two years.

I miss them. Looking back, they were more normal before the 90's, when they started going HARD into proto-Fox News, Conservative-with-capital-C media. Next thing everybody in the family knew, they were talking about black helicopters from the UN coming, and scary aliens (the outer space kind), along with Communists, gays, black people, and feminists showing up and marching us all into concentration camps. And Bill Clinton was involved, as part of some fiendish plan.

It could still happen, you know...

Grant was as supportive as he could be and could not hold back the migration of settlers.

I bet Spartanmack is happy NJ legalized recreational weed. The "Garden State" is going to be a good place to grow.

People have been wary in someway or another of the viability of self-government since before Plato. It just manifests itself in various ways and means. And, of course, only the abjectly ignorant can ignore that there are factions intent on eliminating that idea permanently.

Yep. He's always been racist. I didn't vote for him, and have no problem with anyone attacking him, or Kamala Harris. I don't even view him as a "lesser of two evils" compared to Trump... especially after all the Bush Neocons signed letters endorsing him over Trump. It's a matter of "different evils," I guess.

I think right now, it's probably best for the country to get Trump out... we reeeeeeally don't need a president who's going to encourage his supporters to go shoot people and attack them right now. Honestly if it wasn't for Trump and the GOP pushing widespread voter suppression (while howling about "voter fraud"), and threatening violence to stay in power, I'd be hard pressed to admit there was any meaningful difference whatsoever between the two candidates.

except that's all gaslighting - your team is talking about Trump being an autocrat and destroying our democracy as he is dismantling oppressive government regulations and reversing executive overreach, particularly by Obama by undoing his executive orders.

You're side is decrying Trump's rhetoric, which while inappropriate and often at least partially untrue, isn't racist or a call to violence as racist dog whistles and calls to violence all while the radical left is actually burning down cities, murdering people who disagree with them and starting riots - all over a myth about police brutality. They do it even when obviously justified police shootings occur. Just look at Philadelphia over the last week. But it's Trump that's the dangerous one. OK, pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

it's looking like Biden is going to eke out a win now. I just read he's ahead in MI and WI, and the areas still being counted are urban ones.

and with a lot of votes in general still being counted in blue states, he'll have a comfortable margin in the popular vote nationwide.

sure, but at least in the US, those factions were on the Right... big business, and the military. And the media created to push these interests, and distract people from their intentions muddied the water, further confused already credulous minds, and actively divided families and poisoned their relations. There's a special place in hell for Rush Limbaugh and his ilk.

Yeah. I went to bed with Trump ahead of Michigan by 5 and now it swapped. Michigan, Wisconsin & of course Nevada gets Biden right to 270. Can't say I'm not worried about Biden's dementia.

the factions were only on the right? so the factions from the left pushing big government, ever increasing regulation, consolidating power with the federal government, nanny state socialist policies aren't doing that? Bernie and the Squad are maintaining the viability of self-governance?

SO you believe in hell? It's a start.

I've come to believe that if you can name the leader; that person ain't the leader. And anyone making millions on the radio or on podcasts are allowed to. The rest will be suppressed. Or have been.

Joe? His strings are clearly visible.

The black guy seems to be ahead for the Senate in Michigan, although it hasn?t been called yet.

Weird, the Green Party candidate for Senate, her name is Marcia Squirter.

Oh, my bad - misread it.

Marcia Squier.

You're probably thinking of that Brady Bunch episode of the same name - the one where Jan is sitting at her desk doing homework and suddenly gets doused from something offscreen. Then yells in an angry voice "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia." And then they pan over to Marcia holding one of those super soaker squirt guns (didn't see that twist coming, did you?).

Jan was way more appealing to me than Marcia, in an age-comparative way.

Don't they do recounts if less than 1%? I hate this process but it could go on for a long time. You'd think they'd have a better system after all these years. Why has PA been 94% for like 12 hours. Same for NC and Georgia.
