I was so close to jumping on board with the squad - MC had me convinced that they weren’t corrupt because socialists aren’t corrupt - it like completely goes away once everything is nationalized, power only corrupts capitalists, etc plus capitalism is racist, etc, etc. sadly, as it turns out they’re probably just as, if not more corrupt than the average shitbag politician... or at least 25% of them are.

My favorite part of the article is Omar’s explanation for why paying her husband’s company almost $3mm in 18 months is totally legit. Next is how a company with less than 50 employees, little overhead and almost $3mm in revenue from just 1 client needs a forgiven PPP loan. Thank goodness she explained how checked with the FEC and they said that’s not corrupt because it looks really shady. It’s as reassuring as the GA election official who explained that hiding boxes of ballots under a table for 14 hours then being pulled out and counted by three people who told all poll observers to go home for the night is “standard procedure” and not at all out of the ordinary or shady. Nothing to see here folks - apparently since oy the Sun and Fox News are covering this story, so it must not be newsworthy.
