And yet Tiger management still has him on the team and still think he has the tools to be successful. That is the point. If the argument is DD knows something more than the rest concerning Robbie Ray and we are supposed to give Ray time, then the same case "could" be made for Coke. Aside from DD, who else is keeping Coke employed?

Obviously DD is not right all of the time. No GM is. I have no idea why Coke is still on the team...maybe he has some naked pictures of DD with a farm animal or something.

I agree Big, other general managers said D.D. could have gotten more in the trade. I like D.D. But I think his success went to his head. Krol is average at best, Ray was figured out by the league (after 2 starts) I might be a little tough on him, and Lamborghini is in the minors for another team.

Show me where Ian Krol has been on this roster the last three years. This "LOOGYs are easy to find" is a bunch of crap, like repeating the same lie over and over until it is accepted as the truth. Coke is the only other guy they can find for the role. I'm not saying Krol is the savior, but he did fill a position of need on the team.

And the "Saying Ray is the top of our prospects isn't saying much." sounds very silly also. Regardless of what you felt you had, this guy became the best option the moment he was acquired. The system would be weaker without him. The Tiger rotation would be stronger with Fister and that isn't lost on me. You can't have the same reaction if they had traded for a guy who was number five on the prospect list as number one.

The move had many reasons behind it , the fact Smyly has sucked is the ONLY reason you ding dongs are saying what a horrible trade it was . Oh when Smyly had a few good starts , Ray pitched good in his short stint and Fister was shelved with back issues this trade was a great success .
