awful. Worst of all possible ?projections? - absolutely terrible.

They should just say no. Our guys won’t be up all for this game.

Why? Its an sec team and i believe they are #10.

Well hopefully they will be up for it. I doubt many of the fans are. Sure we will watch but there is no excitement. I wonder if we will sell our ticket allotment even ? We are #8 and miss a New Year’s Day game bowl. I guess we don’t deserve respect after the blowout in Columbus.

Fiesta chooses #11 Lsu over us ?
That makes zero sense is you have seen that offense ? Guess I am unclear who picks who.

Didn't LSU beat Georgia? Might be #11 but they will have a big crowd and ratings

Yeah, it?s pretty much the same draw as the Fiesta Bowl. LSU is 11 and Florida is 10. Obviously both are in the SEC.

Logistically Atlanta is probably better than Phoenix for the team and for Michigan nation. Maybe the players and coaches have come to view Florida as something of rival; and I think a Harbaugh coached team has beaten the Florida twice.

Except for OSU slipping into the CFP in Michigan getting the Rose Bowl, this is as good of a draw as Michigan would have expected.

This is like the 3rd bowl game against them in 11 years. Crazy. Or 4th?

This is a New Year’s six bowl. Three of them are played on the 29th and the other three of them are played on January 1.

There was never going to be a choice between Michigan and LSU being selected for the Fiesta Bowl. Michigan would have either gone to Phoenix and played LSU or would have gone to Atlanta to play Florida. Also the committee selects the other four New Year’s six matchup’s, not the bowls themselves.

interest level for me is very, very low. Had enough Bowl games and kickoff classics against the gators

Id really play on January 1 if I’m not in the finally four. I’d rather play LSU or Ucf then Florida. Gators will be sky high to play us. Hope we are ready. Psu 9-3 gets the new year day game . It may not be but it just seems more prestigious to me. I get it. It’s the weekend. Huray for us. I’m just not excited for the game. Hope to get fired up soon.

I’d rather see the Fiesta Bowl myself, because it’s out by me and while the chances would have been low I possibly would have gone.

That said, from the mid west or the east coast it’s a day’s drive to Atlanta. It’s a long day, but it can be driven in a day, so that will help with attendance; not to mention there are a lot of Michigan grads in the south-what are there, four guys on this board alone that live within a few hours or so of Atlanta?

This year Saturday the 29th is the beginning of a long New Year’s weekend, so a person can look at it as Michigan playing really really early on New Year’s day.

I think the Peach Bowl subs in for the Orange Bowl as one of the four prestige BCS bowls from the BCS era, when the Orang Bowl is a semi final destination in the CFP.

Assuming it’s accurate, this is the current semi-final & final rotation for the CFP. Don’t know when it went into effect, I’ll double check the link and see if it says.

Looks like there’s always one in the east and one in the west or south west. Next year the Peach and Fiesta Bowls are scheduled to be the sites for the semi-finals; the following the Rose and Sugar Bowls, and then back to this year’s locations.

EDIT: So it looks like in years when the Peach Bowl doesn’t host a semi final, it subs in for either the Orange or Sugar Bowl as the Marquis in the region.

My interpretation of the M-UF matchup.

I was so disinterested in the college football post season last year after Michigan is awful season, coupled with the fact that we didn’t have our boards bowl Pickens game, that I didn’t even realize that the Rose Bowl was a national championship semi final-or maybe I had heard it and I just forgot.

It looks like the Cotton Bowl as a de facto Pack 12 versus big 10 Rose Bowl With Ohio State beating USC. Maybe that’s the way it is set up going forward.

Was predicted earlier this week
We probably won?t sell out allotment

Game tickets are $160 each

You should go to the game.

What are you, only a couple of hours from Atlanta?

EDIT: Showing about five hours. Still… I think you should go.

Would we have sold out our allotment to the Fiesta Bowl? I doubt it. Probably would have sold less.

UCF played in the peach bowl last year, that may be one of the primary reasons that Michigan got the peach bowl as opposed to the Fiesta Bowl.
