Fucking Peach Bowl.....???

Man a lot of guys are sitting. I guess the younger guys will have to step up. Maybe Hamilton will open up his offense ?

Maybe it's time for all the non-playoff bowls to be showcases for the incoming classes and proscribe the seniors from playing in them. Match up the teams based on the weights of the returning starters and SOS or whatever other algorythyms you can think of and then you'd have some really accurate idea of the condition of the next year's teams.

To add hopefully Christian Turner plays. He will still redshirt and I would like to see a little more of what he can do. He looked good in the few times he played.

not a bad suggestion at all.

Only 3 guys sitting and only one is on offense.

I quit Twitter about a month ago and like quitting Fantasy FB a few years ago, am glad for it. But I'm not getting the breaking news as quickly ..

Higdon

Gary (leaving early)

Bush (leaving early)

Winovich (graduating anyways)

who else on D..?

agree. makes a meaningless set of games (somewhat) meaningful again.

Almost like these HS All-Star games ...have some underclassmen burst on to the scene and have the alumni/fanbase able to look forward to the Spring Game and Practice and following season, rather than worry about the next depth chart.

but the tradition of rewarding and honoring Seniors speaks to the 99% who aren't going to play in the NFL, let alone be taken in the 1st Round

I doubt the powers that be-the conferences and the bowls-would go for this.

No one, I was just saying those 3(Gary, Higdon, and Bush) being out with the lone offensive player being Higdon.

Down play it all you want. It is two captains and three starters. It is a big deal. I kinda understand but also look at Taco Charlton. He improved his stock greatly from his play in the bowl game. I have Also heard Higdon is planning on playing in the Senior bowl but not Michigan’s bowl game. That sort of makes zero sense to me. Not sure if it is true.
Different era I guess .

I've seen nothing official on Winovich. People at work were talking about it, but I haven't seen it anywhere on the internetz.

It makes a lot of sense and reveals the true reasons behind these players not wanting to play in the bowl game. Playing in the bowl game and possibly getting hurt is a small part of this situation. These guys can play in and lose the Ohio St game. Then they can quit school. They no longer have to go to classes, take exams, or anything. Some leave AA completely. They don't have to practice for the football team anymore. They can work out or whatever if they want, but whatever they do is on their own time. They no longer have to listen to anything the coaches have to say if they don't want to. They can officially contact and be in contact with professional agents and they can start getting a paycheck. Many agents will hook them up with loans or whatnot based on their upcoming draft potential. Don't buy into the ol' "i'm worried about getting hurt" excuse. There's more to it than that.

He can do all of that and go to the Senior bowl. He can participate in all of the senior bowl activities. Then he can go in and get like 5 carries and sit for the rest of the game.

If he were playing in the bowl game, he'd have to stay in AA, stay eligible, practice with the team, continue being "broke," play the entire bowl game, etc etc etc.

It’s relatively a lot.

Unless I missed something in the article, according to this from 24/7, only West Virginia and NC State have multiple players sitting out. Of the 80 odd participating schools, only a handful have any sitting out.

EDIT: I double checked and I guess Houston has a couple of guys sitting out as well.

Just met our punter/placeholder dad while at lunch in Cleveland hts. (Kid went to the boys school often assicisted with my alma mater -girls school )

I had a Michigan fleece on and he cane over to say something
Was with 5 high school classmates, one had a daughter who towed for Michigan and is in US team.

Higdon should be playing unless hes already injured. Hes maybe a projected 4th rounder?....maybe. Whats sitting out going to do. I get it when its a 1st round pick like Gary....who's sliding by the way. But fucking Higdon? Need to protect that 4-6th round money? Makes no sense.

Exactly, dude saying he almost went pro last year was stupid

he thinks he is a lot better than he actually is

Word is that he and his family are mad at Harbaugh.

I think between those choosing to sit out and those who have transferred, the impression is that more players are "out"
