Our tax dollars are going to go to those commie snow removal services this weekend in Michigan. Why don't we plow our own streets or let the market decide who we want to call when we're showed in?

Why hasn't a sealed no-bid contract been sent to Haliburton for all this snow-removal business rather than all these individual government contracts?

God damned big government liberal sonsofbitches!

'Merica!

Is it just me or have the righties on this board been absent lately? Not sure what happened to GBiA, maybe all of the bible/god talk scared him off? too bad. Hope that's not the case.

GBiA only posted here in his "god talks to me" thread after it was moved here, but if the bible/god talk ever scared a guy that committed off....it would be a first.

KAWDUP will probably show up in the next few days and hurl some insults.

The rest are probably busy burning Obama in effigy, and/or 4-wheelin' and reloading assault rifles.

Im not sure what Kzoo township did with their socialist commie tax dollars, because when I lived there, it seemed like they never bothered to plow their roads, at least not for a week or so afterwards.

Seriously, you can usually tell exactly where the city/township border is by how good the roads are on either side of it after snow.

Alternatively, here in RI, Ive noticed fleets of plow/salt trucks are out DURING the snow. It really threw me for a loop the first time, because Im not used to seeing trucks till after the storm has died down (so they wont have to do it twice in one day unless they have to). Probably has something to do with the yearly excise tax on cars registered here. Im not a huge fan of it, but given the fairly good road conditions here, id say most of it gets rolled into road maintenance and construction, which Im all in favor of given what Im used to from living in MI and WI most of my life. Id probably prefer I-95 to be toll, though. At least I could avoid that when I didnt need to use it...

Chicago snow removal was great, but I never drove when I lived there. In Michigan its hit and miss depending on the city.
On my way to go stock up on food for the next few days, not planning on leaving the house

If we didn't have those socialist public roads, we wouldn't have to worry about snow removal.

Yeah, where I live they don't plow if it's still snowing. Really snowing anyways, flurries don't count. Rural area so we have less population paying taxes into the county treasury. Once the snow stop they are pretty good at plowing the roads though, including secondary and gravel roads like mine.

Local "socialism" is great. Lots of people close to the problems making the decisions. The higher up you go the tougher it gets to not screw up. Which is why I think lefties tend to point to local stuff as examples; police, firemen, snow removal. Generally speaking, the smaller the group, the more sense it makes for everyone to work together.

edit: HOA's might be an exception.

No kidding.

And don't even me started on the commie public safety (police, fire, etc.) programs.

Hell, I was getting gas today and saw that the pump was inspected ny a state board to make sure its in compliance. I wish the government would stay out of my gas tank, if I think I'm not getting a full gallon for my money or the octane is off, ill go somewhere else.

It takes a week for the county to plow the road off my subdivision...subdivision road is plowed by pvt contractor 4 hours after snow ends at a cost far less than what the county could do it

Other millennial's advocate abolishing the senior social safety net, and eating people when they reach the age of 65.

It warms my heart to see the lefties missing the righties a little bit.

Maybe it's a hold over from the Christmas season, I don't know.

Anyway, call me Pollyanna, I guess.
