Game 1 vs Vikings

Me too, but in reality there are only a handful of quarterbacks in the league who you could say that about. Brady and Manning come to mind.

I think there is more than that. Obvious you take a hit without Calvin but if we had better depth and players on offense and defense..he'd be okay without one or the other.

I meant Brady and Manning can turn guys like the Kenbrell Tompkins and Austin Collies of the world into serviceable receivers. Maybe throw Brees in there too. But I get your point now, more a knock on our depth than Stafford.

our wr depth is awful combined with horrid playcalling. Stafford will need to work miracles to ever be a top 7 qb.

24-21 Lions

Keep Peterson to his 125 (not 171 with 120 in the 4th), and force turnovers of Ponder. No more special teams gaffes to ruin a great defensive performance at home like last year. And don't get down early taking the game out of Ponders hands.

Underneath Bush and Pettigrew all day. Calvin vs Cook is a big matchup.

And if AP gets his 170, and ST gives up a TD and don't put pressure on Ponder, and get down early etc what will the excuse be then..that we were unlucky? Maybe we had too many injuries? Or maybe the refs are against us?

Depends what happens. I don't make many excuses for at Min last year. Though Ponder torching Coleman deep may have been different with Delmas back there. Delmas and Quin will play this time.

Min game at home, the Lions outplayed the Vikings. Special teams bullshit. Less than 1% chance we give up 2 special teams TD in a game. This Lions defense can stop the Vikings offense and I have no problems with the Lions offense striclty passing to beat the Vikings.

It's almost a must win game at home to start the division on the right track. Vikings have the talent to win with Peterson and could win the turnover battle with good DE pressure. Their secondary is very suspect sitll with Sanford, Rhodes and Robinson back there. Plus Henderson sucks in coverage.

Patterson, Rudolph and Jennings worry me some but they should get good pressure on Ponder.

What do you mean it depends on what happens :hehe:

A loss is a loss. Who cares who fk up. Do you say we got lucky when we win?

We don't need excuses. If they lose, just take it and hopefully they improve the following week..

Sometimes there is a legit reason/excuse. Sometimes there isn't. Got to watch the games to find out.

You mentioned we should have won 12 games last season. So we have 8 legitimate excuses?

I'm banking on a win but I am queasy thinking about AP facing our LB corps.

But they should have won 9-10, damn it. If it wasn't for Injuries or ST plays or dropped balls or fumbles or the refs we would have won the SB.

Honestly as long as we are making excuses why stop at 9-10 who is this the low self esteem optimist?
