Well it's a step in the right direction. The problem need more steps. Like one in front of another and another and another and more than the rest.
And then again a traded Tiger or "Tigers" could go again. So yea it could.

I did some math...

assuming Cleveland keeps winning at their current win % (0.545) they'll finish 88-74.

The Tigers are currently 43-59, with 60 games left. To win the division if Cleveland keeps that pace, they'd have to go 46-14 down the stretch, which would be a 76.6 % winning percentage.

It's not quite unprecedented... I couldn't find any 60 game records, but this one summarized best 50 game stretches in history. going back to 2000 8 teams have beat that pace over 50 games.
