What I have read from several people who write/blog on twitter and elsewhere was Iggy and McCann fucked things up that inning, still though, wtf is rodriguez doing at 1B,

Lol....maybe. Probably not. Iglesias is a professional....a possible gold glove SS....who had a JOGGING Pujols running and time to set his feet....and he made a TERRIBLE throw that hit the lip and got by the 1B who had to come 4? off the bag just to touch the ball.....and you blame the 1B??

Given the depth and angle of his throw it was a great effort imo I can?t fault him for that throw at all

What?? Why? Because he made a good stop?? The stop and the throw are two separate plays. Iggy had ALL FUCKING DAY to make that throw...from the grass or not....the guy running wasn?t even trying and he couldn?t get the ball within 6? of the 1B.

He could have paused a full 2 seconds before making that throw and still gotten Pujols. Adjusted his feet...patted the glove a couple times....made a good throw....but did NONE of those things.

After Ohtani’s home run, with an opportunity to stop the bleeding, Albert Pujols hit a smash to Iglesias at shortstop.
The defensive wizard made a nice back-handed stop, but then inexplicably threw flat-footed, undershooting Ronny Rodriguez by six feet at first base. Iglesias had more than plenty of time to throw out Pujols. Rodriguez could not come up with the ball and Pujols reached, further spiraling the inning out of control.
