Game 122 Tigers vs. twins August 16, 2018 8:00 PM start

Does this mean no World Series for the Tigers this season?

20 games out and hovering just over the 400 mark, The Tigers are never the less not even the worst team-or even the second worst team in the division.

Is the American League Central of the season the worst division in the history of all time?

Division champ Padres and the rest of the NL West that season (2005?) get my vote. I have no statistical evidence to back it up, just hazy memories of terrible baseball.

that might be the worst ever. Every team in the division had a negative run differential including the Padres (-42) who won the division with an 82-80 record.

Prior to Friday nights 8/17 game, the Tigers placed LHP Blaine Hardy on the 10-day DL (retroactive to 8/15) with left elbow tendinitis and recalled LHP Ryan Carpenter from Triple A Toledo.
