The Tigers beat the Yankees 12-11 in a game where New York had a 6-0 lead after the first 2 innings. The Yankees had won 104 consecutive games in which they had led by 6+ runs. Their last such loss was on August 16, 2016, in which they led the Blue Jays 6-0 before falling 12-6.

Nothing is more 2019 than this factoid: The Tigers have now won two games this season in which they allowed six home runs. That had never happened before (well, at least since 1908, but since nobody hit home runs back then, it surely didn't happen before then).

I am on business travel with a friend/co-worker from LA. He is a born and raised BAL fan. His Orioles are playing LAD (He lives in LA) and my Tigers are playing NYY (I live in NY). He was asking which team was going to be swept. I said neither. DET would probably split the series and BAL would win at least 1 in 3.


Both are home.
LAD and NYY have basically clinched the playoffs and are going to rest/get healthy for the playoffs.
Both teams will take their rivals for granted

The problem here is they seem to "reach" for position players. Drafting a player in rounds 2 - 10 who could have been drafted 2 or 3 rounds later.
Why is that? because of who is doing the scouting/cross checking of these players. Incompetents.
