Game 16 Wish List

They have 4 DB's on injured reserve and Mayhew spent about 40% of his draft on DB's.

Please know what you're talking about before posting....it's better for everyone.

jonte green, greenwood and bentley....those are your saviors? youre fucking clueless dude. Casey hayward has more picks than our entire starting secondary and he was picked after broyles. The #4 WR we picked without any knees in the 2nd rd....effing brilliant. picking cbs in rds 3 and 6 isnt getting holes covered.....its like having band aids ready for the 100 meter dash in the spefcial olympics.

Who said they were saviors? Green and Bentley were solid players before injuries. Mayhew tried to land Asante Samuel AGAIN this off season and the asking price was too much. Im sure he had talks about other guys too.

You're just living in la la land. You expect Mayhew to land Darrell Revis or Deion Sanders with every trade and pick.....and it's not happening. Getting a solid nickle or dime in Green in the 6th round is a FUCKING STEAL!!!!

its been 20 years since our defensive secondary has been anything worth talking about. Mayhews geniousness had us starting John frikken Wendling for multiple games this year. Hes not doing a very good job....i dont care which way you want to spin it.....but drafting s bunch of 6th round cbs isnt going to fix the problems this secondary had. Sure injuries happen....but we have no depth at positions of concern cause mayhew chose to do nothing about it for a number of years now.

Drafting Janoris Jenkins or Casey Hayward fix nothing. The DEs 50 less QB hurries were the problem

and over paying 2 DEs that arent worth a shit isnt Mayhews fault?

Avril was coming off a good season and deserved the money at the time and still lions best De And Kvb coming off 8 sacks.

No way to see avril, Willie young and Jackson would fail so hard and Kvb would go from average vet to beyond terrible

I chalk the KVB signing up to a "Pudge Rodriguez" kind of signing. You're the Lions. You just came off of the worst season in NFL history. No FA are knocking down your door....you gotta overpay to get a name.

For the Lions, it was KVB.

Mayhew should have signed him to the 6-8 mil the year prior...and he would have never been in this mess. A mess he created by "promising" avril hed get what he deserved after 1 more year. Especially since he had no back up plan. He pissed away millions of dollars for subpar performance.

2011 the year of the strike. There was not much time for negotiating that year. Avril didn't prove anything in 2010 be worth 6-8 million. And if you get a deal on a cheap restricted tender why not. The Lions didn't have that much cap room in 2011 and they added 2 starting CBs and 2 starting LBs in free agency.

then dont make promises your ass cant cash....now the entire locker room knows youre nothing but a mouth attached to a big pile of shit. It was a mistake. and it continues to be a mistake. The franchise tag compounded the mistake.

Avril was our best DE and coming off a good year. The franchise tag was the right move with Avril turning down the 3 year 30 million deal they offered. I can't imagine how bad they would have been without him. Avril lowered his worth though too. We'll see if they resign him or if they get a similar player to Avril cheaper. Hopefully they draft a stud rookie DE. They are in a great position too.

Do you really think they would have lost any more games without Avril?

I didn't think Avril had a good year at all, seems like every time I watched his plays he was constantly being pushed up field away from QB, rather unimpressive season from him IMO.

I want a win to keep the Bears from the playoffs...return the favor from 2000 when a 4-11 Bears team beat our 9-6 asses on that Edinger 54 yard FG and kept us from the playoffs and started the Millen era. I'll never forget that because it was Christmas Eve. I don't care about about our draft position....if we pick 5th or 8th, etc. Most people hate whoever we pick anyways so i don't care about falling a few spots.

And as someone said earlier, I would like to see Suh have some kind of brutal sack on Cutler.
