FAN BASE FEEDBACK.
Totally Tigers
Tiger fans haven’t experienced this in a decade, which is why we’re foregoing the usual Sunday blog and turning our attention to this exciting time.
Who expected the season to turn out like this?
Certainly not the oddsmakers or PECOTA.
As we review the year, the Tigers started the season on a promising note, then took a dive for a couple months. They stay below .500 for most of the summer, only reaching it again in late August.
Since then, they’ve been the hottest team in baseball by far. From a miniscule percent chance of reaching the playoffs to now ending up at 100%.
Given this significant change in the team’s fortune, wouldn’t it be interesting to see how the fan base has evolved?
After a decade of missing the playoffs, including 8 years of absolute misery, fans can’t be blamed for having walked away. There is only so much pain one can endure.
But how are they feeling now? How many have returned to the fold? How many never left? How many will never return?
Tell us about your experience. Where are you as a fan?
Where do you stand as a Tiger fan today?
1. I never stopped regularly following the team, even during the worst of times.
2. I became a casual fan during the teardown/rebuild but now find myself following the team more regularly.
3. I ignored the team but started following them again in August/September.
