Game 2: Detroit Tigers @ LA Dodgers 7:10 MST

Sadly to beat the Dodgers in the World Series we will have to spend more money which probably doesn’t happen under Chris. I think we out hit them both days. Just cant make the winning plays.

Back with Tigers, Flaherty celebrated in return to LA.

SATURDAY SURVEY.
Totally Tigers

The Detroit Tigers are starting the year without a regular CFer. Parker Meadows will be on the IL for 60 days. The other players with CF experience are Wenceel Perez (on IL for at least a month) and Matt Vierling (TBD).

The Tigers signed centerfielder Manual Margot who has played over 500 games at the position. They have also called up Ryan Kreidler who has played very few games there but is considered an elite defensive player.

Then there is Riley Greene, a former CFer who was moved to the corner to help protect his legs. He’s hit the IL twice while playing in his former position. CF requires more stress and running. Defensively, Greene is a neutral to slightly negative defensive player in CF however, he led all of MLB defensively in LF (for a LH player) last year and won the Fielding Bible.
Should Riley play CF at all this year?

Should the Tigers use Riley Greene in CF this year?

1. Don't let him out of LF.

2. Occasionally put him CF.

3. Give him more consistent playing time in CF.

4. Never sign another Meadows

Fell asleep early missed most of the game. Looked like a frustrating loss.. So Torres hurt himself? Maybe Keith back to 2B, and Tork at 1B?

Watching the replay, just illustrates the capricious nature of it. Anybody ever see the movie Blow-Up? Or The Conversation? If you did, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

It was super frustrating. Vest had just Fooled Ohtani the pitch before, and struck him out. Next batter was sitting on the first pitch like the Dodgers did against Skubal. I know Vest best pitch is his fast ball. Location need to be way better. Dodger lineup is just too good.

Dillon Dingler is the 18th catcher in Detroit Tigers history with a home run and a triple in the same game. The last to do it was…Jake Rogers, who did it twice in 2021.
Bill Freehan did it 5 times.

Tigers fans fuming after video replay overturns go-ahead run vs. Dodgers.
What appeared to be an incredible slide to go ahead against LA was overturned.

Sadly the Dodger spend a lot of money.
The Tigers do not spend a lot of money. (Hopefully soon)

What is really shortsighted by Chris and illich Holdings is that they could own the central division. My god there is no salary cap in baseball and they are worth 4.8 Billon with a B !

Why can’t you do both. Spend and draft well and develop players ?
Why can’t we have an international presents in the far east ?
Tigers should own this division.
