Game 4: Lions @ Seahawks *Monday Night* Thread

ESPN is trying to white wash this now, NFL must have made a phone call.

This was a travesty and the rule is totally clear and all of the officials should have known it. The announcers and the NFL official are making excuses now. Total Bs!!!!

Yeah, the last 20 minutes have been nothing but "You cannot get that call wrong. They have to call that"....

And all the sudden it's "I wouldn't have called it either, the ball was headed out anyway".

Someone picked up a phone.

Who really cares honestly. Don't even let the refs make a call. Just hang onto the F'ing ball.

It only seems regular because you watch the Lions. If you were a fan of ANY other bad team for the past decade, you would feel exactly the same way. Calvin fumbled the ball, it was blatant and cost us the game. You want to talk about seriously heartbreaking turnovers? Wilson threw a game-ending pick in the Superbowl less than a year ago. You want to talk about crappy interpretations of rules, ask Dallas with their process of the catch last year in the playoffs or Green Bay's fail mary against the Seahawks. This shit happens to everybody.

I have watched the Lions lose all the playoff games but one since 1970.. while there has not been as many big games as we want they all count for something even tonight so your premese while correct is also faulty. At 1-3 no matter how shitty we are we have amuch better shot at the playoffs then 0-4.

Who gives a crap. Are we becoming LKP and blaming everything but the fact the offense scored 3 points? So the refs messed up.. Calvin still fumbled and the offense still did nothing for 56 minutes.

Hey at least those other teams have been to a Fucking super bowl!!

This a thousand times. Calvin lost a ball he should have been protecting with his life. The offense decided not to show up for nearly the entire game. The game could have been won a long time before it came down to a Seattle defender making the worst of all possible choices with the game already over.

Btw Seattle lost the super bowl because they have a idiot coach not because of the pick...

By tomorrow the NFL and ESPN will have a new rule they found that says this was the right call. Watch for it.

There is absolutely nothing in sports more heartbreaking than being a life long lions fan

NOTHING!

If he didn't touch it the ball was going to go out of the end zone. But it's infuriating that the refs just never seem to know the rules for our games.

That game ended how it should have, a great play made by the defense. This controversy doesn't make it feel like a moral victory, honestly. Seattle won the game forcing a fumble by our *best* player. The game ended there. It's a shame that they missed a call, but it's also a shame that we rely on a questionable call after a great play that should've sealed our fate. Any way you look at it, the right team won. Don't fumble, we probably win that game. The outcome feels correct. If it would've ended on a bad spot or a td that got called wrong, I'd be irrate.

3 offensive points on offense is a joke Jimmy Caldwell and Joey LOMBARDI !!!!

Official is saying he thought the bat was inadvertent

It was clearly intentionally, but really... it shouldn't matter. It's a stupid rule, and that doesn't matter.

It was a very painful loss. Knowing we had a chance to win it on first and goal from 6 inches is just a more painful thing.

The refs miss 20 calls a game. This was just another, no different that a no-call on a hold. It just frames a painful picture is all.

Dean at it again in the NFL head office...
