there aren't too many guys on the team that shouldn't be sent down.

Get StartedI don't understand how a former starter can't go more than 12 pitches. Green should have went another inning.
gotta keep his stats good and innings down for the trade deadline
Didn't know that the Tigers Ked 17x vs the fishies' pitching ast night, until I read a post on the BYB game-thread.
Tigers' brass could DFA more than half of the team, and replace each one with waiver-wire castoffs from other teams, and they might end up with equal if not somewhat better "value" @ each position. This includes several who the Tigers were counting upon to form the initial core of their next "competitive" roster. The franchise is still too far away from fielding a contender, given their ongoing lack of fielding very many highly ranked positional prospects in the minors, and esp if they don't kickstart the process by signing pricey FAs, which Chris I doesn't appear very likely to splurge on, unlike his late father had after their long stretch of owner-indifferent rot in the 90s and early 00s, culminating in that humiliating '03 debacle).
Are the '19 Tigers capable of challenging the franchise-worst 43-119 record? Maybe not, but they do appear ripe for losing the second-most all-time, especially if Boyd and Greene are traded before the July deadline, the duo being the only worthy trade-bait out of the entire team, with maybe Hicks having an outside chance for a catcher-needy contender. Castellanos is doing himself in nearing FA, and the franchise in a trade no favors by markedly regressing @ the dish so far this season, which was his only marketable asset. At best he will be looking @ one-season prove-it signing offers from maybe a couple of AAA-fodder needy ballclubs, if he keeps his low-power mediocre output up. Mid-.250 batting,10-15 homer hitting corner OFers who are defensive liabilities are a dime per dozen in the majors.
