Tigers vs. White Sox Preview: Where does Mike Fiers fit into the Tigers’ plans?
Fiers has been okay so far this season, but fans are divided on where he belongs in the organization right now.

Wonder why Candy is batting 3rd? I think he's a perfect 2-hole player.

Thwack-thwack....1 run back..err..make that 2.

Shit...throw strikes to a Mendoza line hitter, Fiers.

25 pitches.

Heck at 22-28 and only two in a half out of first and with all the games left verses the crappy central the Tigers probably have as good of shot of winning the division as any team. Man the central is bad. When either the Yankees or the Red Sox get eliminated in a one game playoff you watch the owners will push to do away with divisions.

I don't think they have as good of a shot as Cleveland or MN. Both of those teams are better than the Tigers. They will both pull away from the Tigers.

As far as getting rid of the divisions...I doubt the owners will push for that. Having the divisions set up like they are it keeps more teams alive for playoff spots deeper into the season. The longer teams are alive the better attendance & TV ratings are.

You never know. Looking at both those teams they don't look all so tough.

and looking at the Tigers...they are even worse.

If the Tigers play at the same pace that they have been so far this year they will end up with a 71-91 record. The Tigers have had 10 games vs. the Indians & Twins this year. They are 3-7.

But no one ever keeps the same pace. Or else why not just stop the season in May. We have just as good as chance as the Indians & Twins. If we had a better pen we'd be in 1st right now.

right. Based on the quality of the players on the three teams, I think the Indians and MN will play above their current pace and the Tigers will very likely play at the same level (.440 ball) or worse.

Let's make a friendly wager. I will bet you $20 that the Indians finish above .500, the Tigers finish under .500 and the Tigers finish 3rd or worse in the division. If all three of those things come true you owe me $20. If one of them don't happen, I'll send you $20.

CLE, MIN and DET have not played the same teams, nor the same percentage of the same teams.

VS less than .500

CLE 16-9 (25) .640 WPCT
MIN 11-11 (22) .500 WPCT
DET 18-18 (36) .500 WPCT

vs Central

MIN 7-3 (10) .700 WPCT
CLE 10-5 (15) .667 WPCT
DET 11-13 (24) .458 WPCT

Top Quality Starts Teams (all the current top 6 playoff teams)

1. HOU
2. CLE
3. NYY
4. BOS
5. LAA
6. SEA
