Game #55: Tampa Bay @ Detroit Saturday February 8th, 2025 1:00 PM

Last game before The Four nations tournament. Hockey will be off till February 22nd.

I agree with both of you. I guess we have to hope the rest can help the players.

The Red Wings have two different 7-game winning streaks with McClellan as coach. The Red Wings can jump Tampa Bay and Ottawa to be in the #3 Atlantic playoff spot if they win today and Ottawa loses in regulation. (63 points vs 62 points.) There's a long way to go, so I wouldn't expect they hold the #3 Atlantic playoff spot for long periods of time.

I don't worry about playoffs this early. You win and it takes care of itself. But I'm not too worried about Ottawa or any of the teams trailing us. The Red Wings need to do one thing well, limit penalties. Their PK has been bad this season, old and new coach.
