Lol NFL gives the 0-5 lions a bone ....whatever. to little to late. What a fucked up rule ... I had the TV muted reading a book and saw a ball get bobbled out of the corner of my eye..

A call that went our way? Lol they must feel bad for this team.

You normally have to hold the ball for 35 minutes if you are a receiver so how is that a td??? I know they owe us some calss but...

He fell over the corner after the ball came out, wasn't from contact

At the bar watching....can't hear the game....so when is the last time Staff had 3 first half tds?

Golden Tate seems to come out on the good end of these controversial TD calls.

I don't think it was that controversial.

I get the "going to the ground" rule.. but Tate made the catch, crossed the plane of the endzone, and made a "football move".

That's a TD and the play ends.

After that, he was stripped and went to the ground. The going to the ground rule never comes into play here because he already caught the ball, and made a football move to cross the plane.

I don't see a football move at all. He was stripped quickly and didn't have time to do anything. I repeatedly say the Lions teach me something new every week.

The "football move", or as the rules define it "A move common to the game of football" happens as soon as he turns forward and takes a step.

He caught the ball out of the endzone. The turn and step is the football move, which means he crossed the plane as a runner, not a receiver.

The instant he crossed the plane with the ball, he scored and the play ended.
