Game #6: Detroit Tigers @ Seattle Mariners Wednesday April 2nd, 2025 4:10 EST

So did colt really have a decent day. .. His double clutch cost 2 runs. Radio broadcast said in the 9th there was no reason to freeze/stop as he was already a dead duck either way. Frustrating. Skubal with no run support. Should have been a 4-2 road trip. Frustrating I know its the Dodgers but we lead in every game and Bo had a 2 run lead.

It was a horrible play. He also missed a tag on a stolen base that should've been the 3rd out later in the game

Twins are up 6-0 on the White Sox in the 7th. If that holds, the entire division will be tied, with 2-4 records.

Perfect example on how defensive metrics don't tell the whole story. If you didnt watch this game, you wouldn't know that Colt was a worthless pos defender. Brain farted on a routine grounder that should've been an easy 3rd out and then wiffed on a swipe tag for another 3rd out. He gave a 4th out to 2 different innings leading to 2 runs. We should be up 1 right now instead of down 1.
I saw the missed tag late in the game. It looked like a questionable throw from Rodgers (if that's the play you are talking about). I missed the other plays. Colt has been crappy at 2B, but I wouldn't have given up on him that quickly at that position. He's still really young.

EDIT: I see that the play I was talking about isn't the missed tag you were referring to. I missed the first 4 innings

He homered off him last year
Thats neat and all but its still Javy Baez, Mr "I Dont see the ball, I use a script"

-ball 1 i watch
-ball 2 i swing
-ball 3 i watch

not the the guy anyone wants up ever, let alone when the game is on the line.

'Didn't do enough': Tigers can't complete Seattle sweep, take 2-4 record into home opener.

Detroit Tigers' Colt Keith owned it: 'just kind of panicked' in loss to Seattle Mariners.

It sure Feels like if we had a better bench you would have won this game. Super frustrating.

****! The ball was right in front of Colt and he didnt read it reaching the outfield. I thought that was the tying run off the bat
Radio team said he should kept coming because he was already a dead duck of it was a line-out ..He made so many bush league mistakes today

PUZZLE PIECES.
Totally Tigers

It appears that Colt Keith was channeling his inner Dick Bartell.

Bartell figured importantly as the Tigers lost the seventh game of the [1940] World Series to the Reds. Dick was the goat in the last game when he failed to cut down a Reds run. As Charley Gehringer recalled the controversial play:

“We were leading 1-0 late in the game when (Reds first baseman) Frank McCormick led off with a double. The next guy up (Jimmy Ripple) hit a ball over Bruce Campbell’s head in right field. Campbell picked it up right away and threw it in to Bartell. Bartell thought, ‘Gee, with that double McCormick must’ve scored,’ but McCormick had waited to see whether it was going to be caught.

So McCormick, who was no speed demon, was just rounding third when Bartell got the ball. I kept yelling, ‘Home, home, home.’ Gee whiz, with Bartell’s arm, he’s a dead pigeon. But he never did throw the ball. Even after he looked and still had a chance, he didn’t throw.

And to this day, I don’t know why.” In his Rowdy Richard, Bartell wrote that he assumed McCormick had scored and added that because of the deafening crowd noise, he was unable to hear his teammates’ shouts for him to throw home.
