Game 67 Tigers vs Indians June 10 2018

They aren't good enough to contend but aren't bad enough to get the 1st pick in next year's draft. Looking ahead at some of the players that could potentially get traded

Fulmer - probably the best asset to get the most in return because of his past few years and he is under team control until after the 2022 season.

Boyd - He is having a good season but his track record isn't as good as Fulmer's. He is under team control until 2022 and will be 31 that season.

Nick - last season of arb. before he becomes a FA. Do the Tigers want to give him a big raise this season or a contract after 2019???

Miggy - Untradeable due to the stupid contract they gave him

Iggy - might get a bucket of used baseballs for him

V-Mart - he sucks...nobody will want him

Zimmerman - see Miggy

Fiers & Liriano - might get some mid level prospects for them if they continue to pitch like they have so far this year

I am not sure why you likened Miggy and Zimmerman together. Whole big separation if you asked me. His contract wasn't as stupid as some (i.e. Pelfrey). I would see if anyone is gullible to take McCain off of our hands. I bet there is. Bottom line, we are probably 5 years or so from being really competitive. Til now, it is all smoke and mirrors. By far, DET has lead the majors in Strength of Schedule (or the fact they have played the most weakest teams). Granted, that comes from playing AL Central teams.

I forgot about McCann. Good one.

I lumped Miggy and Zimmerman together because both of their contracts are the reason they are untradeable.

The Pelfrey contract was stupid. But 2 years and a total of $16M isn't too hard for a team to swallow. It doesn't hamstring your franchise.

Zimmermann is untradeable because he is garbage. Miggy isn't garbage. While we might not agree, Miggy still has some value. If he was and remained healthy, some team might trade for him, but you really wouldn't get anything of value back. Zimmermann absolutely is not desired by any other team. That is where the difference is. If/when healthy, Miggy is still a productive player, if no longer a top 5.

Zimmerman could make minimum wage and we're not getting any offers. He's awful.
