Game 7: Seahawks @ Lions Thread

Yup defense fault Stafford bounced a ball off his knee and threw a 5 yard out to the Seahawks defender. Totally defenses fault.
They would have put up 35 on us if a dude didn't accidentally step out of bounds. That would have kept scoring if the game was close. Stafford wasn't great but to say it was even mostly his fault is delusional. This team sucked yesterday and i have no idea why they are so inconsistent. But they need to fix it and im not sure they can.

I'll take that stat line all day from Kersh but you're right. It reaks of Stafford. Have a decent game and get zero support from your teammates. Great analysis, bro lol.

4 runs in 7 innings is bad. 5.14 ERA, which would of been 3rd worst among all qualified pitchers for the season.

Regardless of how Stafford plays it?s gonna be hard to win if the defense can?t get off the field. Stafford having to beat 170 rushing yards and a 158.3 qb rating on the other side is a tall task to ask any week.

We don?t have the defensive talent to consistently be good on that side of the ball. We were god awful defensively yesterday. And when the offense gives up the ball like it did....we won?t have any shot of winning.

Run game is a work in progress. Offense is too damn predictable. Seattle played 2 deep safeties 85% of the game....and we simply could not take advantage of it. 3-4 crucial drops....3-4 bad throws....2 really bad turnovers by Stafford.

The Lions simply don?t have the talent to overcome that many mistakes.

The defense blows. Stafford is a good QB. Not great, not elite, but good. Even with an elite QB, it's going to be very hard to overcome the shitty defense the Lions run out there almost every week.

Until they fix the D, the Lions are going to be stuck in mediocrity.

Let Tate walk, ditch Ansah, then address the defense in the draft and in free agency.

ERA is high but it's not as bad as you say. It's almost qualifies as a QS. Kershaw gave up 7 hits....avg 1 hit an inning and walked nobody. Gave up some runs ya but his teammates did nothing to support him.

Go look at Price's stat line. Eerily similar. Gave up 4 less hits and 3 less runs though.

Tate does need to walk for sure. How many drops yesterday for him? I seen at least 2-3. Whenever he's not involved, he sulks. That's what I see anyways...

Lions need to move on from JBC after this season if they fail to win the division with him this year. With two weeks to prepare the offense was very good verses a bad Miamii team. Week to week as of right now he feels like a underwhelming offense coordinator to me that takes to long to adjust on the fly when things go sideways. It’s a team game and we blame the defense and Stafford for bad games we also can throw in the coaching staff also. Offensive and defensive coordinator need to be better.

If we fall out if it we need to trade Tate for a draft pick ASAP . Tony is right . He sulks big time when not involved. He is dropping to many passes to . Great talent hate to lose him but he probably would say himself he should have caught it those passes he dropped.
Hate his showboating stuff. No need for that .

The trade deadline is tomorrow. They aren't going to throw in the towel yet.

The Defense couldn't stop the run at all when snacks wasn't in, Wilson was throwing dimes all day while Stafford was his typical over throwing everything wobbly self. Fumbledullah set the stage early with this fumble, I can't for the life of me figure out why he is still on this team. I'm sure he's a nice person and all but I can't stand seeing him on the field, he's been my least fav Lions for more than two years now.

anyway, yesterday was the first Lions game I was actually excited about looking forward to then they went and laid an egg like they so typically do after they keep hope alive, I ended up getting upset took a bunch of sleeping pills and went to bed at 6pm

I don't think i'll be able to watch anymore of these Lions games this year cept for maybe thanksgiving. that'll likely be about it, I simply can no longer take anymore letdown and waste my time hoping this franchise eventually turns it around because they never do.

It was certainly a letdown. That is for sure.

Also. Yeah Wilson gets the glory and his perfect passer rating yesterday but on a lot of those passes the Lions DB’s were in postion to make a dang play. Can we draft a dB that can bat the dang ball down? Just make a dang play please.

Lions 3-0 when Johnson carries the ball 10+ times a year.
Lions 0-4 when he cariries the ball less then 10 times a year.

He carried the ball 8 times against Seattle. They just gave up on the run after getting down 21-7. Now I guess since the defense couldn’t get off the field this may be a reason why we went to pass happy mode again.

Also Luke Wilson had more balls thrown to him then Kenny did. These are all jbc’s fault. His offense is very underwhelming

Also lions have zero comeback wins this year. All three wins the team lead from wire to wire .

but Johnson only had 22 yards on 8 carries. Probably a wise move to stop letting him run :rush:

Also, they did throw him the ball 6 times on short passes which are pretty similar to running plays.

They just abandon the ground attack at half time down 21-7 after getting the opening kick for the third quarter. I really didn?t see a great Jbc halftime adjustment. I guess it didn?t matter they just sucked in all phases yesterday. Drops, turnovers , defense , coaching. Just a crap day for they lions players . Here we are another year when the division is up for grabs we just are not ready to take advantage of it sadly.

I didn't watch much of the game. I had it on in the background but was working on some house projects.

I'm all for abandoning a part of the game if it isn't working. I don't think the outcome of the game would have been much different...unless they ran the ball on the play that Matt threw the pick ;)

You are right though....another mediocre season and most likely another where the Lions miss the playoffs.

Never a wise move to completely abandon the run...

Correct. In the past we had to abandon the run game because there was 0 chance we had anyone who could actually pick up yards. That's not the case any longer. Kerryon has shown he is a big play guy who can pick up big chunks of yards and needs to touch the ball 15+ times a game.
