Pitching, Boyd leads the AL in strikeouts with 23. Tigers are 7th best in walks given with 18, in the AL. In strikeouts 4th with 69. I know a many of you don not like strikeouts b/c of the pitch count. But the more strikeouts the less glove work and error chances. A ground ball has to be caught, thrown, caught again. three chances of error. A strikeout replaces a whole bunch of that.

Turnbull 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in 5 innings. Would like to see some improvement. 6+ innings, 6+ K's, less walks, would be nice. But with Off day Friday bull pen should be ready.

Drama at Mets home opener.

The Mets game is on at the same time as the Tigers game today on MLB network is showing either one of the two games depending on the region.

Dykstra has apparently gotten a substantial number of people to attend the game to chant
disparaging chants against Darling, who is scheduled to be broadcasting the game for the Mets.

Hope nobody minds that I put this on the Tigers game thread, but the games are happening at the same time so…
