Game 9: Lions @ Bears Thread

They said that this back issue is from last year. I wonder why it hasn't healed yet. Is it something that surgery can correct?

They should sit him until it is 100% healed. If that means shutting him down for the rest of the year then do it. 3-12-1 might get you Chase Young

Back surgeries have a very low success rates and often make things worse leading to opioid addiction and death, if he?s got chronic back problems he should probably retire and take his rightful place along with Barry and Calvin as lion greats that never played in a SB

This will give Patricia and Quinn another year and then they will draft a young QB early and get a couple more years to let that QB develop. The one thing Quinn is good at is fleecing the Ford's at giving him extensions.

If I?m a coach.....given that Stafford is out.....I change my defensive philosophy. If the Bears score 20 they very likely win, so every FG they kick is a W for them. As imperative as getting off the field on third down is, it?s even more so today. I?m bringing pressure from everywhere on 3rd downs. I?m telling Slay and Coleman to take a chance now and then and jump a route.

That, to me, is playing the game in front of you. We simply aren?t going to score enough offensively to go ?bend but don?t break? mode today and watch one of the worst QB?s in football drive up and down the field at will. Getting points from your defense today is a must. Doesn?t have to be a pick 6.....but a turnover on their side of the field.....or pinning them deep and forcing a 3 and out.

My guess is we will do none of those things and end up getting destroyed by Trubisky, who will have all day to throw time and time again and put up 27+ points while the broadcast team slobbers in about how he ?is back? and Matt Nagy is again a genius.

what really sucks is I already put a bet in (Lions +2.5) before I heard that Stafford was out.

Say what you will about Stafford, but he’s the only reason this team scores points. I’ll be shocked if the Lions put up double digits today, if they do it will only happen via ST or Def score.

Trubisky will probably look good today, he’ll face no pressure as usual and he’ll have no pressure to make plays.

136 games start streak for #9 ends today.

Impressive streak. Hoping he gets healthy and starts another 96+ game streak.

From someone who has suffered from Chronic back pain for a long time, and at times it's tough to walk -- as much as I give him shit big props for him to continually play football.

But sometimes rest doesn't make it better especially if he has a broken bones.. And Tigermud is right, back surgery is rare success.

The broken bone part is what I don't understand. If he's had a broken bone in his back for the past year...why hasn't it healed?

im sold. Cut stafford. Save the 20 mil and spend it on a DE.
