Game 9: Lions @ Texans *Sunday Night* Thread

Can’t believe Campbell didn’t try and get closer having another down and another timeout to spare. Figured he’d call a timeout at like 15-20 seconds and run another play.
I agree.

Brian Branch just confirmed what we all suspect....they asked him.....were there any adjustments made at half time to the defense...."No, not really."

How many of the interception were Goffs fault ? The hail mary isn't a big deal other than he couldn't get the ball to the end zone. But I just watch something that said 3 of them were the pass catchers fault. I'm trying to remember them. LaPorta never looked for the ball but I thought it was behind him. I forget. One could been called a fumble.
Man what a win . I can't sleep.

The Lions lead the NFL with a +113 point differential. This is Detroit's highest point differential through the first nine games of a season in the Super Bowl era,
and +41 points better than their next-highest total (+72 differential in 1970).

The Lions are the only team in the NFL
to have three players with at least 8 PDs and 2 INTs this season:
Carlton Davis
Kerby Joseph
Brian Branch

Jake Bates of the Lions is the first kicker in NFL history to have a 55+ yard game-tying FG, and a 50+ yard game-winning FG in the 4th quarter of the same game.

Lions K Jake Bates kicked a 58-yard field goal, tied for the third-longest in franchise history.
He joined Matt Prater and Jason Hanson as the only kickers in franchise history to connect on multiple field goals of 52+ yards in the same game.

Lions RB David Montgomery joins Barry Sanders and Billy Sims as the only players in franchise history to produce 8+ rushing TDs in consecutive seasons.

Lions QB Jared Goff produced his 10th fourth-quarter comeback and 11th game-winning drive for the Lions.
In the process, he passed Bobby Layne for second place in franchise history in each respective category.

The Lions have improved to 8-2 in prime time games under Head Coach Dan Campbell.

The Lions have set a single-season franchise record by winning 5-straight road games.

The Lions have won 7-straight games, tying the single-season franchise record.

The Lions are 8-1 for the first time since 1954.

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown has produced a receiving TD in seven-straight road games, tied for the
NFL's sixth-longest streak since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger.

LionsCB Carlton Davis had two INTs last night, the first two-pick game of his career.

Lions QB Jared Goff has reached 200-career passing TDs. He is the 15th QB in NFL history to reach 200 career passing TDs within a player's first 126-career games.

Running lanes for opposing running backs against the Detroit Lions have been GRIDLOCKED for nearly 700 days.

I've been re-watching both of Bates kicks. Those have to be the two straightest kicks in history. The hold is on each hash mark and the ball literally goes dead straight right off of his foot and never moves left or right at all. It's pretty amazing the ball never deviates from that path even an inch.

These Lions fans on the road are insane. We just keep filling stadiums. My uncle flew there to go to the game tonight.
I was there... the "Let's Go Lions" cheers were audible on TV from what I hear. On FG attempts there was so much cheering from both sides (happy with a miss/make) you couldn't tell if it was good or not until the ref signaled.

Pretty good game, and I'm not a big Loins fan.

Goff played like he had icewater in his veins. no emotion at all from throwing 5 picks, and the Lions looked more confident than the Texans no matter what the score was.

Stroud is not the guy. as talented as he is, he just can't perform if he's pressured or forced out of the pocket. same as college.

There were a handful of times late in the game where he should've kept it and we noted he had open field, but instead kept scrambling and throwing contested passes
