Gholston update

hit 'refresh' again and tell me i'm obsessed...

Nope. If I look at it and it is the exact same, I will say that it was wrong, the guy deserves a multiple game suspension, and that I would hope that Hoke, if asked about it, would say that the behavior is unacceptable and will be handled...

I never said that Ghoulston should be kicked off the team and wear a sign. That's why even an MSU fan on this forum has started to refer to you as a troll.

If I start a thread on the MSU board attacking the Wolverine players and coaches I would expect at least a few Wolverine fans would have the guts to defend their guys. Hell, U of M fans have threads attacking MSU they started on the MSU board. Call me a troll, but I'm simply calling you guys out on some weak and petty B/S that springs out of the resentment of losing 4 in a row.

Why don't you go "call out" ESPN, etc. for the "weak and petty B/S?"

As already stated, they don't care who won, yet they think this is more than weak and petty. Get a clue, then come back when you can comprehend the situation.

As for the "you guys didn't play the game" remark, I played DE and not once did I think it was ok to intentionally hit after the whistle.

Update: the Freep reported that under the Big Ten guidelines, MSU had until today (Wednesday) to reach a verdict on whether they will suspend Gholston or not; the Big Ten has up to three days from then to decide whether it will suspend the player on its own.

It does not take 3 days to look at a few measly seconds of film and decide whether or not a guy should be suspended; Dantonio is clearly drawing this out - after today in violation of Big Ten guidelines - in order to allow Gholston to play against Wisconsin.

This is straight from the Jim Tressel coaching manual.

Yep, that was my position, also...

This is what I hope happens. I think it'd be great if the MSU coaching staff delayed what they know is coming and then have it happen against Nebraska...

Unless they are hoping to stave it off until the MN game.

Red makes a very good point. Most of this thread is the result from back and forth with MSU fans on the issue and wouldn't be in the thread if no MSU fan was here on this Michigan forum talking about something that 'doesn't matter.'

What is hilarious to us Spartans is how much we are in your fan heads. You guys areaabsolutely consumed with a team who you claim isn't even your biggest rival.

Says the person continually reading and posting in the Michigan section..........

No doubt. Then he asks why this isn't being discussed on the MSU section of these boards. The easy answer is that most of us posting here don't even go to the MSU section. We only visit the Michigan section and talk about topics that come up here.

The same things would be being said if some random player from IU had done the same things if Michigan had played them last saturday.

Of course, the whole WSJ stuff wouldn't be brought up, but that is brought up to show that this behavior is certainly not an isolated incident.

If I'm not mistaken wasnt this board created by a Michigan fan FOR Michigan Fans when ESPN went all robust on us? And it has since branched out from there?

Wouldn't it be MichiganSports instead of DetroitSports then?

Miami player,Micanor Regis, has been suspended for their next game against Georgia Tech for punching a North Carolina player in the groin. Al Golden's response:

"Micanor's actions in the North Carolina game will not be tolerated," first-year coach Al Golden said in a statement. "We expect our players to represent our program with class on and off the field, and when they do not, there are consequences. Quite honestly I'm embarrassed and I just apologized to Coach [Everett] Withers and shared that sentiment.

"We do not teach, nor will we ever condone this type of behavior in our football program."

What a difference in character.

Now if Dantonio or that D-coach had said that from the start, this thread wouldn't exists.

Not playing the race card, and you have no idea about my racial background, but I'm 99% sure most of you wouldn't be calling Gholston a "thug" if he was white.

For saying Gholston needs to show some class, some of you need to look in the mirror.

You are playing the race card and you are wrong. I work downtown in a major city and I see plenty of white thugs. I call a spade a spade, regardless of race.

Sorry, but statistics aren't the basis of all the truths in this world. Statistics should be interpretted with caution as they can be misleading; they can both lie and tell the truth. Am I to believe that minorities are evil and dispicable because they are overrepresented in the justice system? etc.etc. etc. im not a sociologist lol..

The point is I've actually watched those games and I can't remember seeing anything that would lead me to believe MSU was a dirty team coming out of the game. This past game was definately the most physical game of the past 5 years, but aside from the Gholston facemask, the rest of the game was physical, hard fought, and clean. If you think late wrap up tackles on a qb are "dirty" then we can have our differences of opinion. As a former defensive player, I loved the strategy of getting in these late text book wrap up tackles to throw off the timing of an already shaky passer. Denard completely lacked confidence and had no semblence of comfort in the pocket by the end of the game. Great game plan.

It's not just the stat, the stat is just an indicator and I get that but there's also the hockey player that got beat up and the ski mask thing and the "zero tolerance" statement followed by tolerance. This stuff is subjective, but it's also relative. If you think you can argue that Dantonio is a disciplinarian, I want to know, relative to who?

I seem to remember some lol-ing over selective responding. Well this is a post that I would like to see a response to.

This Spartan must be a RCMB member, because they are playing the race card heavy over there. This honestly disgusts me... Whenever someone fails in a argument...race card. Stay classy Spartan fans.

He logged in yesterday, and all 11 of his posts were in this thread, so odds are pretty good he's looked at it.

What a coward.
