Golden Tate wasn't returning to the 'Hawks

If I were Seattle I wouldn't pay him (or most receivers) shit either. They don't throw the ball much at all. They were pretty much last in the league in passing attempts. Why spend it on a receiver? I can draft another one in a later round and probably get similar production for cheap.

Great point.

They obviously didn't want to sign him. So what? Their loss, our gain...pretty simple.

Just on the NFLN now....expect a 1,000+ yard season from Tate being next to Calvin. They loved the signing.

What do they know. Hughes doesn't like the signing

But I said I love him. Hes definitely an upgrade over Nate and Durham....im not stupid....its obvious hes talented. Theres reasons I didn't like the signing and ive tried to explain them as best I could:

Negatives:
Defensive Holes...lots of them....still
No cap Room
Isnt a true #2 that will extend the field
Slammed the door on yet another rd 2 pick (broyles)
Depth and ease in the draft to obtain quality WR depth this year
He got paid similar to the top WRs in FA when Decker/Sanders fit the mold of an outside WR better imo

Positives:
YAC
Hands
Beats man 1v1 on short to intermediate routes
quickness
Tenacity on every play (Blocking)

Said since day 1 I liked the signing if we still got someone on the outside. I just wont be on board til I see the finished product. If mayhew finds some space to continue to work FA and drafts well enough to fill some of these holes (especially on defense)...ill applaud Tate being a lion....I like him as a player.

Dude has been a #1 going up against teams best CB's, but hughes knows he is no good on the outside.... I see your concerns because he is a smaller guy, but has Steve Smith had a problem playing on the outside? Not unheard of for a smaller type guy to have success on the outside. Maybe we aren't all out on Broyles, maybe they plan on playing him and Ogletree in the slot? You have no idea what there plans are and bash them any move they make whether you "like" it or not, you always bitch about something.

I listed my concerns about the transaction. You cry about me. Typical. Gratz on coming out as the boards first gay poster. Get off my dick...bitch. In that thread I wasn't bitching...I listed positives and negatives about the signing and actually said I like him as a player. That's not bitching....what you did was bitching.

He wasn't a #1 in Seattle...ever. They went out and got Rice cause they knew tate wasn't enough. Then they went out and got Harvin cause they knew tate wasn't enough. Then when tates contract was up they did NOTHING to resign him cause theyre fine with 2 UDFAs and Harvin playing over him. We paid double what they were to take them off their hands.

You srsly just compared Steve Smith to Golden Tate? Leme guess...next youll compare him to Deshaun Jackson...cause hes short? ur a fucking moron....get a clue.

Nice gay joke bud. So what if I was gay what the fuck is it to you? I am clearly not and have had a girlfriend for the past 3 years, but hey there you go knowing it all again douche bag. I'm not bitching I'm trying to point out you have invalid reasons for not liking the signing. I'm the one that needs to get a clue? Rice didn't even PLAY most of the season, and Harvin till the playoffs. Why is it so far a stretch to compare the two players? Smith 5' 9" 185 runs a 4.39 (probably not anymore) and Tate 5' 10" 202 runs a 4.41.... Smith played in the superbowl as a second year starter in 2003, Tate in his second year as a starter at WR. Smith started returning kicks and punts, as did Tate. Both have great hands. Greanted Smith was a little more a deep threat early on in his career, but not like Tate has had SO many opportunities to go deep in the offense he was in. Sorry if I was soooooooooo fucking far off base for comparing the two. My bad for being a fucking moron.

theres certain posters that don't focus on any content or subject matter....but just me....all the time. Youre one of them. How could I not think that's faggish? I had to call you gay to actually discuss your ideas and expand more on just the typical "hughes is negative. Hughes bitches all the time." Maybe I should call you gay more often....you actually sounded like you watch football for a second.

Thanks I guess? I shouldn't have came at you so negatively and just tried to point out why your cons on the signing were wrong instead of saying you were bitching, because you actually weren't. I just don't like when you assume you "know" things about the plan and what the FO is doing when no one really knows except the people in charge. Anyway I have in fact loved football and the Lions for as long as I can remember and have been a draft junkie for about the past 10 years seeing as how that is our super bowl every year. Sometimes I care more about the off season then I do the season, because deep down I know we are always going to be let down.

Tate wasn't good enough so the Seahawks acquired a scrub in Sidney Rice? Dude, Rice is a joke and will never be healthy.
As for Percy Harvin? He's just another weapon. I really don't think the Seahawks were thinking that Tate isn't good enough so lets go get a couple of fn bandaids to help him out. lol. Give your head a shake. So by your logic, Calvin isn't good enough so we need to get him some help because he's stinking up the joint. No, it's called "helping out your offense by acquiring PLAYMAKERS".

Seahawks are smart. Tate is good but they just won a title so they can go get a WR in the draft..the luxury of winning a SB.

kearse and Baldwin stepped up. Harvin will be back as their #1 target. They don't even need to draft a WR. Tate was expendable...hence they offered him a bs deal.

Seattle's offense is their running game and their defense forces a boat load of turnovers. 39 to be exact. Seattle forced that amount in one year, it took Detroit 2012 and 2013 to force 39 turnovers.

Life is easy for Mr. Wilson and his receivers. Tate got the most coverage. He has good hands, gets YAC and stays healthy. He has some speed and should help the Lions complement Calvin and hopefully a talented rookie.
