Detroit Tigers have no interest in re-signing free agents Jose Valverde, Delmon Young.

Of team's free agents, Tigers will pursue only Sanchez, not Valverde or Young.
from the detnews

Also, they reinstated Ryan Raburn from the 15-day disabled list, along with designated hitter Victor Martinez and reliever Daniel Schlereth from the 60-day disabled list.

I hope we can sign Sanchez and hopefully to a reasonable contract.

Don't think this came as a shock to many. The writing was on the wall for some time now.

Same here, I hope they can re-sign him for the right price. However, if some team wants to overpay him I have no problem with them letting him go.

Sanchez might go for 4 years at $50M.

They won't for 5 years, and 3 would be too short. jmo

Can't see Sanchez going for anything less than 4 for 52, and that's on the low end.

Probably gonna go for 5/70.

Good riddance I say.

People can say what they want about how Delmon did in the postseasons, but 162 game regular season of suck trumps that. Plus, he's a hack, a dirtbag, and a racist and I'm happy to see him go.

Valverde had a nice run for a while, but a 1 pitch pitcher can't be used in pressure situations anymore, too easy to sit on a fastball you KNOW is coming.

Not upset at all with this one. good luck papa fastball, you'll have to find your split if you wish to be successful again, Delmon, you're a pretty good hitter when your not swinging at everything, I predict Houston is his landing spot.

I just don't want to see Delmon in the playoffs. I would think Delmon has to stay in the AL since he sucks in the field.

If his value falls far enough, he could en up on a NL team as a PH.

Cleveland or Minnesota.

No way Minnesota takes him back. They traded him to us in a rush deal which according to whats been said, took just over 2 hours to hammer out, and for peanuts at a time when they had hardly anyone who was healthy.

The Twins dropped him like a hot potato, with herpes. Ditto for Tampa Bay.

Maybe the Yankees can scoop him up to pinch hit for A-Rod during their next playoff run.

They will build a clone using DNA spliced from Raul Ibanez and Delmon Young.

It will be bald with a pointy acorn like head, fat, anti-Semitic, capable of hitting nothing but home runs, popups between home plate and the pitcher mound (won't run to 1st either), or weak ground balls right to the SS or 2B when there is a man on first.

They will call him Raulmon Ibanung.

Delmon likely will not play in the National League. And I wonder what marginal AL team would think he would elevate it to playoff level. Why would the Royals, Twins, Indians, Mariners want him? That means he's likely going to a contender that can afford to deal with his deficiencies, or will risk them to get back on top again. California, Texas, Yankees, White Sox, Red Sox--the usual suspects. Maybe Toronto.

As for Valverde. Why would any team risk signing him now?

Romo seemed to do just fine with his one pitch. Well 2 if you count the fast ball. If you were a righty, you knew a slider was coming to the outside of the plate, yet no one could hit him.

Certainly pitchers can get away with it, like Mo. Rivera. But Valvere's stuff isn't that good to get people out with one pitch.

Valverde's one pitch was a fastball on a tee, and that's not going to cut it. I still wonder what case he can present to a team in need of a closer that he's guy.
