List comes from the HOF website. I added Rolen anticipating someone might bring him up.

There are some very good 3B on that list. I voted Brooks Robinson but I could have easily gone with Brett, Boggs, or Schmidt, or even Matthews or Kell

Brooks is clearly the greatest fielder in the mix.

So true doc,
Schmidt just might be the best overall, with Brett, Boggs, Brooks, and Mathews.
In the end I picked Eddie Mathews, and I was always a big Brooks Robinson fan as a kid too. Power hitter, and turned himself into a good defensive thirdbaseman. He was tough as nails, I forget what year it happened, there was a big fight of players from the Milwaukee Braves and the Cincinati Reds. Mathews got into it with well known tough guy Frank Robinson and kicked the living snot out of FRobby. Years later, after Mathews played for our Tigers in '67-'68, he was named as the 'honorary' coach for a National League All-Star team. He was visibly showing his emotions as the announcer called out his name brushing tears away as he ran out to join the NL all-stars. I never forgot that about him, tough as nails player showing tears of pride.
Any of those five is number 1 worthy imo.

And someone goes Inge. I hope its not a one run vote. I voted for Schmidt.

I voted for Brett, but it was hard to decide between him, Schmidt, and Robinson.

How'd Brandon Inge make the list? hahahahahahahaahahaha

Schmidt was probably the best overall. Brett was the scariest hitter in his prime. I met Brooks Robinson once years ago. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met.

Schmidt and Matthews have very similar, great numbers. BRobby was prob the best fielder ever. But I chose Brett. Great hitter and a favorite player.

There are enough goofs on here it won't be a surprise that Inge wins the vote.

I voted for Schmidt because of the combination of his hitting and fielding. A very tough choice between Brett and The Vacuum Cleaner.

Inge leads Mike Schmidt 8-6. Brooks, Mathews, and Brett also receiving votes. None for George Kell?

That'll teach me.

why is Inge even up there? I voted for him just because he has an astounding .235 BA over his career with more Strikeouts (1183) than hits (1081). Look for Jackson to challenge that amazing feet.

I put him on b.c of the old Inge Hall of Fame thread from the ESPN days.

Not over yet...

I was also wondering if anyone would notice he was there.
