Harry Heilmann

His numbers are flat out amazing. Harry was just a .280 hitter from 1916-1918.. Not bad but nothing spectacular. But after Cobb got a hold of him he had some years... Thanks Ty his stats are truly amazing to look at.... Eight time he batted in over 100 runs with 139 being Harry's best in 1921. Seven times he had over 40 doubles and once he hit 50 in 1927.

Afterward, he became the Tiger play-by-play guy. Back then there were two radio stations carrying games so he and Ty Tyson were on-air rivals. Imagine if two stations did the Tigers today....we'd have threads fighting over which announcer is better
