Dude, shut up. We all wanted Detroit to win as many as possible. The difference is you're on the ledge and we're not.

What ledge are you talking about? Whats wrong with being pissed... the saints are not that good...[/quote:dmupi1f0]

Bridge, hi-rise, etc. You make it sound like you're a better fan because others are taking the loss in stride.

The Sainst were 8-0 at home, averaged over 41 points in that dome, had won 8 straight games overall, have a super bowl QB who broke Marino's all time passing record for yards in a season by a bunch. The Saints aren't great on defense but they are better than us. Let's not pretend the Lions lost to an inferior team.

I never once said that so stop assuming.. Taking it in stride and being pissed are two different thing's. Stop patting yourself on the back Mitch...

That Saints defense is terrible.. I will be shocked if they win the super bowl...

Right here Bob " Unlike most of the posters on here i want the Lions to win it all this year".

So is NE's and so is GB's. This is the new NFL. I just think it will be tough for NO because they most likely won't get to play at home again. But we'll see. If they make it to the superbowl they get to play in a dome.

Well then I miss spoke because I am still so pissed off at the lions wasting a golden opportunity to win the super bowl this year. But the truth is most lions fans are just happy at making the playoffs. Now look at Atlanta now on a 0-3 playoff stretch.... The clock is ticking now and the Lions need to get it done... No matter what when you lose in the playoffs you have wasted your chance... That is my opinion...

And that is why the Lions could have won it all.... It is frustrating having the best Receiver and still losing in round one..

I get you. I really do. The 2nd half stunk. We all wanted a win, get a chance at GB and win a SB. But now that's its done, I'm not going to let it bother my life. But we all care.

KalineCountry[/color]]This was a great year overall for the Lions...
I think that once things start looking real good, many of us forget taking small steps to get to the ultimate goal....
those have consisted of getting a QB with a great arm, Great WR, solid D-Line, solid veteran help at a couple of positions like LB.
Next in line of improving steps are obvious, Defensive backfield, and O line, and then better depth overall.
Might be 7 months before next season, but lots of excitement in the mean time with upcoming draft, and any FA's or trades.
For years, no decades, it was usually about 1 or 2 players and crap W-L records. These past couple of years have brought more than just hope.
Confidence in Players and GM and head coach.

Since I first started following the Lions in'70, I now have come to realize this season that with perhaps the lone exceptions of Bill Munson and Greg Landry, both who would be decent second-string backups ALL of the Lions ex-QBs look like (at best) third-string backups and pale in comparison to Matt Stafford. Yeah, there was also the wuss, turnover-prone Lions QB Mitchell who deserves some consideration, I suppose, since his passing and TD records that were set nearly two decades ago, were finally shattered by Matt this past season, but Stafford has not had anyone like Barry Sanders to hand-off to, as well as Moore, Perriman, and Morton as wideouts, all of whom greatly helped to keep opposing defenses honest in the bargain.

Only Herman Moore truly holds a candle to Calvin Johnson, and despite his controversial performances on the field, and sophomore-ish setback season, the only players that played on the Lions DL who compare favorably to Suh, were DT Doug English, and DEs Bubba Baker and William Gay, IMO.

But Baker Gay and English all played at the same time. And thy still went 2-14 before Sanders came.

I was posting about their individual performances, but yeah, they were the reason the Lions' DL's semi-famous "Silver Rush" nickname came into fruition and stuck for awhile at least.

I understand. They were a gold group. Too bad we had too many other holes.
