Hoops vs Iowa

Wasnt able to watch the game. Pretty sucky night it looks like. Cant understand losing by that much to Iowa.

Cold shooting, poor decision making...it was a cornucopia of bad basketball. Mixed with Iowa playing their best game all season.

Throw in that Michigan has only 1 bench player looking for his shot and it stands to reason you may get blown out when you all this suck together. Man so many starters have hit a wall. Getting tired may becoming a issue. We have try and get something out of Davis and Johns jr.
Brooks isn?t really looking to score anymore at all.

Silver lining, Matthews may not have any draft stock left. We may get him back for next season. He's a good college player, but his shooting is nowhere near NBA level.

Simpson 10 points, 8 boards, 7 assists. Almost another triple double.

Grasping for positive straws here.

I?m not even bothering.

There is very little positive here.

But every game is it?s own game.

Duke and Gonzaga both went into the week ranked in the top five the two losses? What the fuck is up with that?

Looking down the top ranked teams beyond of the top five there are a whole bunch of three and four and five loss teams on the list.

It?s hard to win in conference, especially on the road in the big 10.

That?s said, I don?t believe Tennessee or Virginia are going to win out.

I don?t think there?s a singularly great dominance team in the NCAA this year.

The talking heads at fox Said that Michigan was being projected as a one seed going into this game.

They may have slipped a little from that but there?s no reason they can?t get it back and anyway, in 1989, Michigan won the national championship going into the tournament as a three seed.

In the runner up to Louisville year, I remember a late season regular season lost against Penn State or something that was devastating. Nevertheless that seem went to the national championship game.

Thus far, this team has significantly exceeded expectations.

This one road lost in the tough B1G conference does not define this team.

Yeah, but he just pump faked your comment.

I agree with everything you said.

I'd just like to add, fuck Gonzaga. They should be barred from competing for a one seed. We'd be undefeated if we got to play Boys & Girls club teams from January - March.

Again we should be playing zone some with this thin of a bench and save guys legs for the end of the season. Don’t get why Jb won’t mix up his defenses.

With Poole and Simpson up top this team could trap so many guards in a 2-3 zone they are so fast. Get some easy steals and layups albeit if we can make the layup .

We had 8 more shots then Iowa .
Michigan was 21-65...32.3 percent
Iowa was 26-57. ......45.6 percent.

Stat from the free press. Wolverines were 9-21 on layups.
Yikes! Another bad sign. Iowa's defense ranks worse statistical in the Big Ten.

I'm glad I missed 99.9% of this game; the final score was the cherry on top of what was a pretty frustrating day yesterday.

I was just checking gamecast; looks like that big run Iowa went on to close the first half basically won the game for them.

Well, Michigan did get within 5 in the 2nd half. Then Iowa went on another run.

It would be easy to watch this game, especially the first 5 minutes and blame the refs. I've even already called out the bald dude as an especially bad ref early in the season. Then you look at the stats from 3 and the missed lay-ups and see that Michigan still could've won the game if they make shots.

It really is just that simple. This is basketball. Make the shots, you win the game. Miss and you lose. The refs called a very tight game in the first half, loosened up in the 2nd half, called some fouls that weren't there and let other fouls go that were there, but Michigan had more than enough chances to win the game if they just make a few more lay-ups and hit a couple 3's.

Some nights, a team is going to be hot, other nights, cold. That's basketball. No real reason to overanalyze a road loss at the arena of a top 25 team in the Big10.
