Hoops vs Villanova

I think we should just to clear our team the current and reigning national champions of basketball.

Also champions of that year that Louisville was disqualified for.

Two national championships.

If there was a Championship belt in Basketball, it'd be Michigan's right now!!

Does anyone know what the dust up was between Poole and the Villanova player in pregame ? It was shown on Btn. Wildcat player was jawing at Poole. Guess Poole and Michigan gets the last laugh lol.

Said the guy threw his shoulder into Poole

Later, I saw Zavier hit a lay-up and then a Villanova player intentionally put his foot out and tripped him. This was right in front of the ref and nothing was done. They even showed a replay...

so was that a clown stomping?

Gotta love the disrespect - MICHIGAN has been a perennial hoops power under Beilein for a number of years, yet we lose the NC title game and the 'experts' revert back to the typical rankings.

Guess Michigan will have to just win games and keep proving them wrong.

losers

perennial power? They haven't even been a perennial power in the B1G. Since Belein's first year (2007 - 2008) the Wolverine's have finished 10th, T-7th, T-7th, 4th, 3T-1st, T-4th, 1st, 9th, 8th, T-5th and T-4th in conference play. Granted they were probably the better team than Louisville and should have 1 national championship, but they weren't the second best team in the country last year. They're a good team now and the trend is positive, but 1 outright, 1 shared conference title, a couple conf tourneys, 2 final fours and 2 National finals losses, in 11 years hardly makes them a perennial power.

Wrong, they were clearly the 2nd best team in the country.

16 tournament wins since 2013. Only UNC can match that. I'd say that's a perennial power by any measure of the definition.

You don't know the Spartan rule:

In football, Make fun of Michigan (starting 2009) for celebrating "September Heismans" and have a circle jerk with your Spartan buddies over how clever you are for coming up with that phrase.

In basketball, claim it's the opposite, and it's more impressive to win games in December-January, than March-April.

Then call everyone who disagrees with you bad words, and talk tough.

Then log off the internet, lock yourself in the bathroom, and cry.

Their fans are as shitty as the movie 300, which I'm sure they all love.

and I'd say you're out of your mind since 12 of those 16 wins in 6 years came in 2 tournaments. They failed to make the tournament in one of those years and got bounced in the opening round in another. They survived the first weekend in another and made it to the Elite 8. That's not a perennial power especially considering they were barely a factor in conference play in 4 of those 6 years.

shut up, dickbreath.

Beilein has beaten Izzo enough over the past 5yrs to erase all that shit about sparty hoops.

programs are indistinguishable and M is on the rise!

which is why they came in 4th place in B1G play. They didn't have to play anyone until the final - the 1, 2 & 4 in their bracket got beat - the 6 seed was their toughest game in the region and then they played an 11 in the final four. they got a lot of help along the way.

this is pretty funny coming from the guy who criticizes people for selectively choosing time frames to make claims or comparisons - you're defending that very same tactic except in this case it's particularly egregious since 2 years account for 75% of those wins. They average one per year in the other 4 tournaments during that time frame and that time frames includes 2 years where they had 0, 1 where they didn't even make the tournament.

michigan has a very good team right now, but they haven't been a perennial power. I know you can't admit you're wrong and you'll continue to come up with excuses or ad hominem responses and think you're owning me because vic and 24 like your posts, but you should just give it up you're making a fool of yourself.

you gave up rather quickly. who did mc say was going to resort to name calling?

anyway, your point about belein is debatable. Well, sort of. First, belein is .500 against Izzo the last 5 years and for his tenure at uofm he is 9 & 11, that's hardly enough to erase anything. Second, if your point is that Belein is the better coach, that's certainly debatable but if your point is that him being the better coach erases "all that shit about Sparty hoops" like Izzo's accomplishments, well that's just moronic. Izzo is one of the most accomplished coaches in all of college basketball. Only a bitter, partisan fool would say something like that. But I don't see how any of that would prove uofm hoops has been a perennial power under John - they haven't.

Spartanmack protests too much about matters that do not matter. MSU basketball is "good." Michigan basketball is also "good." Neither one is Duke basketball, which is on another level of levels.

Then I guess MSU didnt really win the Big10 title last year, since they only played Purdue, Michigan, and OSU only once in the regular season. Take that banner down.

I forget, did the 11 beat all of the higher seeds outside of Michigan? It's funny that everyone acts like playing the lower seed is somehow a break. I wonder what the teams that lost to Loyola thought about that?

The link I provided showed the end of year rankings done by the USA Today Coaches Poll. This was after the tournament. The coaches ranked MIchigan 2nd. I'll take their opinion over anyone.

Too much time is spent talking to the turd. That is all that he wants, attention. Move on from him.

Winning a National Title is no big deal. All a team has to do is go on a 6-game winning streak.

Disagreeing with a blatantly false statement isn't protesting too much. I think it's just that most people can't read a post from an MSU fan without injecting their own bias into interpreting what i'm saying. Certain people can't differentiate disagreeing from hating. I agree with everything else you said and acknowledged as much in one of my posts - I actually said uofm is really good right now.
