Hoops

Other than Coen Carr’s performance, there’s not much good to say about the first half. Second half was much better when Jase started hitting some shots. He took a few rough falls.

I thought Bryant was pretty scrappy and was surprised we didn’t turn them over more.

Bonus - I hit one of my boxes on the MSU game. Got 25% of my money back!

Rocket fieldhouse is a great venue for a game. Place was pretty packed and crowd was fun - we sat in a pretty mixed section w/ NMU, MU and Spartan fans. Seems like the consensus around where we were sitting is that NCAA officiating is pure garbage - like they’re trying to ruin the games for everyone.

Sunday games are too late for school Monday so I’m trying to convince my son to go to E Lansing for the hockey game but that’s a 10hr drive home Sunday.

Holloman should be starting over fears. Fears has been awful for far too long. They start every game sloppy with him running the point and then when Holloman replaces him the offense starts clicking.

Fears just gives guys the ball in awful places leading to ugly turnovers.

Jace has played awful and we're up 9. Wild

Really didn't like his body language after that air ball of a wide open 3.

Similar game to the 1st rd. Struggled the first 10 mins on offense and then started attacking the rim and got going.

1 of the bigs need to step up. We had to end this game again with Fidler and Carr as the bigs because the other 3 can't hold onto a ball.

Agreed. The frontcourt has looked like they did in the first month of the season.

This article is interesting, the second half or so is a preview of the Ole Miss game. Reminds me of the 2000 NCAA finals when people were talking about the game possibly getting out of hand if MSU allowed for a fast paced tempo - it's as if they're completely clueless to the fact that MSU is a run-first offense and is one of the top teams in points off fast breaks. This article is all about Ole Miss turning it into an up and down game and running away from us. The author does mention we have a rebounding advantage but seems to ignore the fact that rebounding is what ignites the fast break offense.

Not saying this is going to be an easy game, but if it's an up and down, frenetic pace I think that favors MSU. Hopefully it doesn't end up like the last time we played a Chris Beard team in the tournament when Texas Tech basically mugged our guards with impunity for 40 minutes.

Congrats on advancing. Looking forward to an M-MSU regional final. May the teams exhibit a virtuous example of brotherhood.
