How the Mueller Investigation Could Play Out for Trump

There's this Gomer in Texas who was the Proud Boys' lawyer (apparently he was licensed to practice in TX) and did all this tough talk and threatened a bunch of actual lawyers on twitter who mocked him. he made all sorts of racist threats too.

holding a noose and threatening to lynch someone (while dropping N bombs) is ban-worthy. no two ways about that!

Then he got himself in a heap of actual legal trouble for filing false police reports (link)

bonus: the link reports Van Dyke went to Michigan State! he apparently didn't graduate though, according to the other link to the SPLC's write up on him. According to that article he was involved in all sorts of racist antics on campus.

These people are all white trash, neo-nazi scum. That should be clear from about 5 seconds of reading about them regardless of the source.

There web site says they accept all races all religions gay or straight how would one know that in five seconds

Hey maybe this one will all come out in court too! Dingbat

sounds like they'll let just about anybody practice law in TX ;)

the lawyer advertising is more entertaining though.

I do wonder about the sort people who hire lawyers who put out these ridiculously over-the-top ads.

I've seen a couple cases of lawyers copying his ads.

rest assured it will all come out in court, dingbat.

Hey mud, all it takes is a quick search to see who and how Sandy Hook parents were harassed. Calling the horrific slaughter of children a ‘hoax’ was ONLY advanced by Infowars and Alex Jones. At that point, it was inconceivable that anyone would mock or tease families victimized by such a horrific tragedy.

Put a fresh layer of tinfoil on your head and go back down into your basement.

Because if you had someone that doesn't inspire people to do bad things there'd be a more clear argument against de-platforming them. Of the two things - de-platforming according to politics, and de-platforming to avoid negative repercussions and cases where misinformation is harmful, there's gray area and interpretation and bias. Instead of making the case on the bad end of the spectrum where there are white nationalists and people making life hard for victims of school shootings, why not point to a case on the other end of the spectrum where there's presumably less crazy bullshit.

inspire or call people to do bad things? inspiration is subjective and anyone can make such claims. its people like Jones that the first amendment was written for - not for protecting a persons freedom to express great ideas but so they can express their controversial ideas without fear of reprisal. i know this isnt technically a first amendment issue since we're talking about private enterprise, but the same principals apply. if bullies like the splc can abuse their undeserved position as arbiter of what is and isnt hate speech or a hate group and bully private enterprise to "deplatform" them, then no one is safe from their abuses unless and until hate groups like the splc are exposed and delegitimized - we shouldnt have to count on that.

I know it's subjective. I'm just saying pick a case with better optics.

FIRE!!!!!!!! in a crowded theater isn’t jack shit compared with the intent of the bullshit lies and rhetoric of an Alex jones.

I understand but banning/deplatforming Alex Jones types now lends credibility to and legitimizes future bans of less offensive and less controversial people.

Uh... so the SPLC isn't allowed to call racists, racist?

Nobody is saying that - just that as usual, all you've posted are accusations, not actual evidence. "He did a bunch of really racist stuff" isn't evidence. Show some evidence that's not bullshit taken out of context and I'm sure everyone here will agree and decry them as racists.

But compelling private businesses to serve people they don't want to serve is also something to be careful around.

If I want the right to refuse working for anyone for any reason and the government chips away at that right to the point where I have to help Alex Jones pitch his BS, that seems too far.

Hasn’t been the platform to been a net benefit to Alex Jones regarding awareness and name recognition?

yeah, I'm not calling for compelling companies to do that. I'm calling for them to have a spine and stand up to SJW idiots and call out bullshit when they see it. I'm far more supportive of boycotting companies that behave like that than calling on the government to intervene.

I'm also for guys like Gavin McInnes suing scum like the SPLC for defamation but that's a very expensive undertaking. Unfortunately, protecting your name from smears can cost 10s if not 100s of thousands of dollars and winning doesn't necessarily undo the damage done.

Is the main 'thing' of the Proud Boys that they want to punch leftists?

Do they even have a main thing? I never heard of them until tiger mud posted the link on this thread. Or maybe it was a different thread.

But then again I barely even know what the Southern poverty Law Center is.

A lot of fringe crap seems to come into the conversations we have on this board.

I found the following bits on wikipedia:

McInnes has said "I want violence, I want punching in the face. I'm disappointed in Trump supporters for not punching enough."

The Proud Boys say they have an initiation process that has four stages and includes hazing. The first stage is a loyalty oath, on the order of "I?m a proud Western chauvinist, I refuse to apologize for creating the modern world"; the second is getting punched until the person recites pop culture trivia, such as the names of five breakfast cereals; the third is getting a tattoo and agreeing to not masturbate; and the fourth is getting into a major fight "for the cause."
