I still have hope

For some reason I just have a feeling that an 8-8 team is going to win the Super Bowl this year. Don't ask me why...

The Giants were 9-7 last year and the won the Super Bowl. It's not that far fetched...

Yep...now it gets tough.

Honestly, I like road to the playoffs more this year than last year. Not because our schedule is easier this year, because it's not, but because the Lions will have to beat a few playoff teams to actually make the playoffs.

Last year, we were 1-6 against playoff teams. That one win was a Tebow led Denver. I like the fact that IF we got in, we would certainly be more playoff ready than last year, probably have to get 4 or 5 W's from playoff teams.

That certainly would give me more confidence that if the Lions actually play in a playoff game, I might get to celebrate a playoff W for the first time since '91.

The Lions are 4-4 and in the playoff hunt, but they have the NFL's toughest schedule the rest of the way. The combined winning percentage of their remaining opponents is .706, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

Got to earn it. I think they can do it, even sneaking finishing 5-3 for 9-7 with tiebreakers. Big game on Sunday

Falcons are appearing to be paper tigers as they haven't really beaten good teams in retrospect. I refuse to write that game off as a loss merely because they are undefeated when their opponents have been average at best. With the Lions improving week to week, the Falcons can be had as they peaked early, similar to how Yankees peaked too early and Tigers got to them while they were at their peak. I'm sure people will scoff, but look at the Falcons schedule and you might come around to understanding my point. No, nit saying Lions definitely win, just saying I refuse to simply write it off as a loss until the game is played.

The Lions still haven't done anything to impress me. If they beat MN this Sunday I think it will be their best win. Anything can happen but I still don't see them being over .500

Agreed on Houston, Atlanta and both Green Bay games. Lions have the capability to beat all of them I don't care who it is. Will the Lions put it all together is the question. Chicago could be sitting people as well.

Lions have 5 home games out of 7 after Sunday. Time to do some damage after surviving on the road. If the Titans and Vikings bullshit losses come back to bite us in the ass so be it, but the Lions are not going to just give up at 4-4. They beat Minnesota they are in the 6th spot already. They follow that up beating a pretty banged up Green Bay team they are in the 5th spot. This game Sunday is huge.

On the same token, don't underestimate Arizona especially in Arizona and Indy.

The current combined record of our remaining opponents is 42-17. I only counted GB's 6-3 record once even though we play them twice. Arizona is the only team that currently has a losing record at 4-5.

Maybe we run into some luck at the end with Atlanta and Chicago being our last 2 games....they might not have much to play for.

I don't give a shit what their record is. It's still Green Bay, Atlanta, Chicago, Indy and Houston. 5 home games. Lions can win all of them.

They can lose 'em all too. Nonetheless, it is what it is and they're winnable.

Nothing to impress you? Of course they haven't..

this is a huge game.....a must win. Heading out to the game...go lions

The hope is slowly fading. They really need to stop sucking against division opponents if they're every going to truly "turn the corner."

I don't give them much of a chance against the Packers this weekend. They're coming off their bye they'll be well rested.

They can't play this "oh it's the fourth quarter NOW let's start scoring points" against marquee teams like the Pack...

Maybe if we were in the AFC.. No playoffs in the loaded NFC. I think we play well the rest of the season with our offense waking up but too little too late IMO.

The AFC is better than the NFC top to bottom.
