Inge doesn't report to spring training. Spring Training comes to Brandon Inge (cue the holistic music in background and bright white light)

Inge is the longest remaining tenured Tigers player. Yeah, he is still sticking around, primarily due to the dearth of available players who can adequately field the position as well as hit in the mid to upper .200s. Otherwise he would have been history ~a year or two after his high water mark of the '06 season.

Like another comment in the DN article, why do we really need to pay beat writers and so-called sports journalists for their opinions anymore, when there are now literally thousands who would very willingly go to FL for just the cost of meals transportation, and lodging, most who could write better pieces than Gage has and does. It would be news ONLY if Brandon did not show up on the date that position players are supposed/expected to and not before.

Heard on the radio he reported last night, but hasn't yet taken the field. Either way, he's garbage and I wish he was a non-story for once.

He shoulda been one of the FIRST fn guys there. What a putz....lol.

Only Inge and his monster ego would assume he would steal the spotlight from Fielder/Cabrera.

Seriously, it's time to eat $5.5M and show this clown the door.

This. the only semi-suitable role left for him is backup infielder, and worth/kelly are much better for that than him. cut his ass.

This! That! And whatever else we can muster up! I can't believe some of the junk that comes out of his mouth. A distraction from Cabrera and Fielder? Two fn mega-stars? LMFAO!!! WOW!!!

He never reports early. I would be shocked if he is on the team out of spring.

I hope he gets cut, Danny Worth deserves a spot on the roster over him.

hmm i guess none of you guys are the gentleman who sat in front of me last year who wanted to kick the shit out of me after calling him a bum.

I couldnt beleive how he has any supporters left out there. He is not Detroits favorite Kid anymore, he was sorta likeable when he was younger and the Tigers suck. but not that hes older and crazy shit comen out of his mouth the dude is just annoying as hell, and just plain sucks at hitting.

Im sure he doesnt hit .300 and hit 25hr because he doesnt want to make Cabrera and Fielder feel pressured to hit those numbers.

Brandon Inge, career vs RHP = 3,766 PA .223/ .291/ .362/ .652
280 BB/ 897 K= Putrid...

I really hope he isn't. We really should give it to somebody that actually deserves the spot and can help the team. At least we only have to take one more year of him.

Hopefully.....they got an option on him for next year. They better not pick up that option.

I have always admired Inge for his defense, athletic ability, and charity. I remember when the Tigers drafted him as a catcher and he had to learn a new position. Then Pudge came and he had to learn 3B. Then injuries came and he filled in at OF. Now Prince is here and he is learning 2B. The guy has really busted his rump to stay in the bigs.

People either hate him or love him. I get a little irked at people dogging him all the time as he had really adapted well. The other reason as I have first hand seen his work with kids and the community, he is genuine. He really makes a difference in kids and communities lives. He does not deserve to be booed on that alone. On a personal level, I hope he goes somewhere where the expectations are not as great as here. He is a good leader and a man with excellent character.
