hmm i guess none of you guys are the gentleman who sat in front of me last year who wanted to kick the shit out of me after calling him a bum.

I couldnt beleive how he has any supporters left out there. He is not Detroits favorite Kid anymore, he was sorta likeable when he was younger and the Tigers suck. but not that hes older and crazy shit comen out of his mouth the dude is just annoying as hell, and just plain sucks at hitting.

Im sure he doesnt hit .300 and hit 25hr because he doesnt want to make Cabrera and Fielder feel pressured to hit those numbers.

I have always admired Inge for his defense, athletic ability, and charity. I remember when the Tigers drafted him as a catcher and he had to learn a new position. Then Pudge came and he had to learn 3B. Then injuries came and he filled in at OF. Now Prince is here and he is learning 2B. The guy has really busted his rump to stay in the bigs.

People either hate him or love him. I get a little irked at people dogging him all the time as he had really adapted well. The other reason as I have first hand seen his work with kids and the community, he is genuine. He really makes a difference in kids and communities lives. He does not deserve to be booed on that alone. On a personal level, I hope he goes somewhere where the expectations are not as great as here. He is a good leader and a man with excellent character.

And he bitched about every single one of those moves. Yet our star player gets asked to move out of his position and go play somehwere else and you never hear a whisper of a compaint from him. Even Fielder made mention how Miggy didn't have to do it. Inge is delusional. I don't see the "excellent character" at all.

He may be a great person, but he doesnt get paid by the organization to be a great person. he gets paid to hit the ball and field the ball thats it. We as fans come to see him hit the ball and field the ball, not to see a great person fail miserably at his job.

I don't think you speak for everyone on that.

Dump Inge, for sure, but stop putting words in people's mouths. It just isn't true.

Show me a team with players all having the qualities of Inge, and I'll show you a 120 loss team.

Like I said... there are a lot of haters. I will not boo him

The six pillars of character:

Trustworthiness
Respect
Responsibility
Fairness
Caring
Citizenship

Yeah no. If he loses us games I will most certainly boo him.

One note, nobody is asking or telling anyone to boo him.

Okay, the six pillars:

Trustworthiness: can Inge be trusted to do what's best for the team, even if that means taking a platoon or defensive replacement role? - NO.

Respect: Did Inge respect his team enough to work on his plate problems during his stint in the minors? - NO, he said he went and just had fun, like playing softball.

Fairness: does Inge fairly describe his abilities and shortcomings? - NO.

Caring: is Inge a caring guy in the community? - Yes, he loves Detroit and is not afraid to say it.

Citizenship: I'm going to alter this slightly to Teammateship, because it's more fitting. Teammateship: is Inge a good teammate? - See pillar #1.

So 1 out of 6.

If you want to love Brandon, and be an Inge fan, I think that's great.

But if you're going to try to jump all over the people who are fed up with what we see as selfish, self-serving, egotism on a daily basis from Brandon, who's skills and physical ability have probably degraded to the point he should no longer be on a MLB roster, expect to get shot down pretty quick.

I don't judge the people who cheer for Brandon, you should not judge the ones who boo or gripe about him.

Every athlete comes to a point in their careers when they are not helping the team move forwards, and where they should go out with a little dignity, that time has passed for Brandon, in my opinion, and probably in the opinions of a good majority of Tigers fans.

I am not judging anyone. I was just responding to the post he has had no character. The original post I responded to was a response to the reason I do not boo him. Just another view point is all. I could care less if anyone hates or boo's him. Just giving another viewpoint opposite the haters. If anything, you and other people are bashing me for my view.

6 pillars of characters are nice, but when you are a professional baseball player, the expectation is that you don't suck at playing baseball.

That's cool jdeb, I was mostly responding to the part where you called us "haters", and tried to explain that the term "haters" does not really apply, Inge has earned the reputation he gets on his own, I think us pretending to be happy he is still around or be called "haters" is a pretty lame concept.
