It goes like this

I don't disagree that it would be helpful to Mexico, but I think assuming it would set them on a path to greatness, enough to curb the motivation to move north, is wishful thinking.

never been tried, let's try it, nothing else has worked. maybe you don't fully understand the conditions the stupid war on drugs has caused south of the border. try visiting borderlandbeat every day for a month then tell me it's wishful thinking to try something different.

I was arguing with this conservative friend of mine about this. She was calling the refusal to serve Huckabee Sanders "terrible;" I agreed with her that it was probably wrong and bad business, but way short of terrible, and really not that big of a deal.

I also told her I was a little surprised that Huckabee-Sanders didn't have a staffer to set shit like dinners out with a group like most other well known people do; making sure there was seating available; looking to see if there was a more private room available, and what not, before this whole incident.

Honestly, I'd rather be told I'm not welcome and asked to leave than to have the haters spit in my food.

I heard Lauren Sivan tell LeAnn Tweeden on the radio yesterday that this is what actually should have happened; as per normal protocol.

It's very difficult to build things, even in the absence of influences like the US drug market. I'm not downplaying the influence of US money, just saying there are other factors and other big influencers that benefit from labor staying cheap in Mexico.

It is kind of ironic that right at this very moment, there are Mexicans (maybe Mexican Americans) building a wall... in my backyard.

it's brick. the pro-brick wall group in our HOA (including me) finally prevailed over the deadbeats and cheapskates who were opposing it. it added up to something like $100 more in HOA dues per home, per year (ie nothing), but is a lot cheaper to maintain and looks 100 times better than the weathered wood fence that was there.

They're Mexicans.

Undocumented Mexicans.

But they're building the wall because it's a job that no American citizen wants to do in Donald Trump's booming economy.

Trump will be between a rock and a hard wall when he finally gets his wall approved and the only people he can find who are willing to do the work to build it will be undocumented immigrants.

I guess it would be the most expeditious thing to just hire the people currently being detained at the border to do the work.

I'll agree with Trump on this - that place is one ugly ass looking dump.

Looks like the kind of place Guy Fiere would visit on his Diners, Drive ins and Dives TV show.

If I were a person of the stature of the White House Press Secretary, regardless of who was the president, I would never be caught dead in that fucking shithole.

You call that a dump? Looks ok to me. Much nicer than a Guy Fiere place.

It was the #2 place out of 7 on Trip Advisor. Some of the plates look questionable and some are obviously politically motivated sabotage.

The Red Hen sounds like that name of a Nevada swinger's sex club, or maybe a whorehouse.

EDIT: ...and speaking of swinging...Justice Kennedy just announced his retirement.
