Think it is kind of odd to think Harbaugh is using the Michigan job as a springboard. He is being paid the same amount of money he was in the NFL more or less. He was going to get offers of similar caliber in the NFL. If he really wasn't serious about Michigan long term, he could have and probably would have just stayed.

Plus I think one of the first reasons he gave for signing at his press conference was for familial stability. Really all signs seem to point to a pretty long spell, longer then 3 years anyway.
