Jan 1 Bowl Games

Iowa already down 28-0 and wait till you see what the Iowa player did on the kickoff...

Probably one of the dumbest plays I have ever seen on a football field...

ESPN is trying to soften the blow of the SEC losses yesterday. They are emphasizing how fast and strong UT is compared to Iowa. And of course Jesse Flamer is saying the.SEC is still the best conference.

Yep, OSU, MSU, and UW doing well yesterday doesn't change the fact that the middle of the Big Ten was pretty soft this year. After Minnesota and Nebraska, it got pretty ugly. But that's part of what annoys me when everyone tries to paint all teams from a conference with one broad brush. Because teams like Iowa pretty much stink, it doesn't mean the better teams can't be good teams.

Likewise, Tennessee doing well doesn't change the fact that the vaunted SEC West went 2-5 in bowl games and 2 of the teams lost badly.

And the Pac 12 was the best conference this year.

Who cares?

Nobody except certain people who feel the need to diminish the win. they somehow think if they say it shouldn't have played out the way it did then it's not really a win or at least less of a win than it would have been for Baylor had they finished instead of MSU.

The way I look at it is The B1G best team beat the SECs. The 2nd Best B1G team beat the B12s 1a best. 1b demolished an SEC team that was #1 at one time. It was a good day for the B1G.

Also, the SEC was destroyed by the B1G speed. 2 200yd rushers yesterday. They couldnt touch Gordon or Elliot.

the block in the back doesn't happen if there wasn't a hold on Langford, a blatant, obvious hold.

MSU won it more than Baylor lost it, no turnovers, giveaways. You want it to be a gift but it wasn't, we got stops, sacks, and made big plays. the one somewhat gift was only possible because of a blown call.

As frustrating as most of the game was we hang our hats on 4 seasons of 11 wins in the MD era. Nothing to scoff at.

That's more of an accomplishment than the bowl win. Not to take anything away from it, MSU beat a very good team. But it will be forgotten in a few years. No one talks about the Sugar Bowl and how memorable it was to win a BCS game. It's old news. The 11 win season is more impressive.

Either Rose Bowl, BT Championship, NCAA Playoff, or bust. The rest of the bowls are nice, but that's about it.

Its the same thing they do every year with Big East hoops

As much as you want it to be a gift it wasn't. The refs gave baylor a gift on the interception play, the onside kick was good execution, maybe a missed fg was somewhat of a gift but what kicker is consistently money from 46?

MSU offense and defense won the game. We made baylor one dimensional, they couldn't move the ball on the ground at all and therefore couldn't kill the clock at all. We took some risks by dialing up more blitzes but you have to gamble in that situation and petty hurried throws. One the blocked field goal we takckled them for a loss a few times to make it a long attempt. On offense we didn't rush stayed balanced and didn't even have that many big plays. We just moved the ball and stopped them.

LOL....Most of you Nancy's thought the game was over.... Even my wife left to go shopping... I told her down 20 if MSU gets a TD early in the 4th they still had a shot to win. Go find the post I posted it somewhere on here .. I bet most of your board was bailing... Pretty funny you guys don't think The game was a gift from the football heavens when the chances of winning the game were microscopic... Nice work..
Glad for some of the fans of your team :) You all know who!!!!!!

Of course we didn't think we had much of a chance down 20 in the 4th, the odds aren't in your favor. I thought we could easily score 21 points if cook got his shit together, I was more concerned about stopping them. I did have one post in the game thread saying one good thing was that I didn't see baylor being able to run the clock out and that ended up being the difference.
