One day after the Lions season ended, Matt Patricia said he needed to take some time to let the emotions of the season wear off before he could make an informed decision on any coaching staff changes.
It turns out it took less than 24 hours. The Lions have decided not to renew the contract of offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter.

Matt Dery can go fuck himself. What a debbie downer....

Tony, you realize why people are negative and skeptical about anything this franchise does, right? We all cannot be positive, it's fucking tough with these clowns. They have not earned a single bit of goodwill.

Ok bro. I get it. I just can't stand the whining lol. Especially from Dery
Wahhhhhhh, Why is Cooter gone?? Waaaaahhh. It should be Patricia.
Waaaaahhh. They can't find a good OC. Waaaaah. You know they're hiring Godsey, right? Waaaaahh

It's fucking exhausting, dude...

He has become a debbie downer in recent weeks. I used to enjoy his shorter podcasts more than now... But still want to put them all on here for public consumption.

Pride Of Detroit Lions Blog PODcast breaks down the best Lions offensive coordinator candidates. 28 minutes.
A bite-sized podcast breaking down the Jim Bob Cooter move and future OC candidates.

The Detroit Lions decided to move on from offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter on Tuesday, and despite the holiday, the PODcast crew was assembled to address the important news.

Chris, Jeremy and Hamza recorded a mini-PODcast on Tuesday night, addressing Jim Bob Cooter?s legacy, what went wrong in 2018, and discussing our favorite potential replacements for Cooter. We dive into the likelihood of each candidate being available, their potential chemistry with head coach Matt Patricia and the pros and cons of each coach.

THIS WEEK ON THE EMERGENCY/BONUS PODCAST:
Was Jim Bob Cooter a bad offensive coordinator or just a bad fit with Matt Patricia.

The crew discusses how some of Cooter?s old habits and failure to grow as an offensive coordinator doomed him.

The crew runs through some of the top replacement candidates and gives their thoughts on each.

Candidates include: Shane Waldron, Zac Taylor, Steve Sarkisian, George Godsey, Adam Gase, Nathaniel Hackett, Freddie Kitchens, Charlie Weis and more!

The PODcast crew tries to rationalize an internal hire like George Godsey, as uninspiring as it may be.

I get it, but you have the choice to consume whatever you wish.

And quite honestly, Dery's actually more positive than a lot of people in the media. He's generally level-headed, and he's one of the few radio guys I wish still had a show in the area.

You do an awesome job bro. I wasn't taking a shot at you...

I feel ya man. I do.
I had to listen to Caputo just now on the radio basically telling us that Stafford is getting traded and it's probably to Dallas lol. Then he was literally (and i'm not making this up) speaking in a handicap voice mocking Lions fans. Caputo is a clown. How people take him serious is beyond me lol.

I've always hated Caputo. His takes are always stupid.

I know that Tony, I agreed with you on Dery.

There are those too at the Detroit media sites who early on in the season seemed to change course and rip him for anything.
Freep's Birkett who has usually good info imo, and the f'n troll monarez, Detnews' Rogers and that Wojo who I never took seriously, Mlive's Meinke and Atkins not so much.
Every city I would guess have their newspaper team writers who stir the shit up, along with those on tv and radio. They have them here too taking shots at the Red Sox and Patriots.

The Detroit Lions Podcast Episode 194 ? The End Of The Cooter Era. 95 minutes.

In this episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris, Case, and Jeff ?the Riz? Risdon discuss the latest Detroit Lions news. We cover the game against the Packers and also kick off our ?Play with the Podcast? events. We also share the final positions from the Detroit Lions Podcast Fantasy Football League. From there we go in-depth on Jim Bob Cooter, what happened, what it means, and analyze the top candidates. We also break down other changes we might see in the coaching staff, including the Defensive Coordinator. Finally, we try to quell the Stafford trade talk.

Detroit Lions Podcast Talks Wins, baby!
The first order of business is the big win for the Lions over the Green Bay Packers. Even with three of us hosting, we forgot to mention Matt Prater?s amazing touchdown pass. We take time to talk about Zach Zenner, how he might fit going forward, and how this team has obviously not given up on their coaches.

From there we bring back ?Play with the Podcast? where you can join us on Xbox and get some high quality gaming time in with us. We also break down the big winners of the Detroit Lions Podcast Fantasy Football League and congratulate them on landing in the money.

Detroit Lions Part With Jim Bob Cooter
Next we discuss the separation between Jim Bob Cooter and the Detroit Lions. Jim Bob?s contract ended on the 31st of December, and the team decided not to renew with him.
This allows Cooter to take part in any number of interviews (there is significant interest) and the Lions to move forward with improving their offensive capabilities. That discussion wouldn?t be complete if we didn?t vet a number of available candidates and weigh how they might fit within the organization and what they bring. Also, we discuss the possible effects on Matthew Stafford.

Also, the Detroit Lions Podcast talks about the likelihood of hiring a new Defensive Coordinator. He makes the case as to why it might be ?on the table? and why Matt Patricia could be the biggest beneficiary of such a move. Don?t worry, Coach Pasqualoni likely wouldn?t be going anywhere?

Stop Talking About Trading Matthew Stafford.
Additionally, we discuss the trade rumors that have swirled around Matthew Stafford and share a bit of insider info on the team and how the Detroit vs. Everybody mindset might be alienating players. We?ll be going more in-depth on that in future episodes.
