Abandon the run completely, Lions win

Get StartedStill had plenty of opportunities and still only scored 2 FGs.
Bell and Riddick both have ran 3rd and short too. It was a good play call. A call that works typically.
right call on 3rd and 1. It's typically a run up the middle. Bell is more expected. Collins was having success. It was the right call.
You know what is creative. The Riddick run on 3rd down.
And having Warford would help.
Abandon the run completely, Lions win
You're right that the run with Collins has been good for us. It's exactly why he needs to mix it up sometimes. I'm sure the cardinals knew it was coming. And being that they are very stout against the run it isn't the wisest of ideas to be predictable.
Abandon the run completely, Lions win
Bad spot on Ebron on 3rd down cost us 4 points. This would lead to different momentum and play calls. Bogus OPI on Ebron. Another 3 or 7. Sims recovery bad spot. Another 3 or 7. Ross return another 7. Lions score 19 to 25 more points then with the proper calls. They won the game.
Against the cardinals
We average 5.2 yards per run
We average 4.8 per drop back
Solution become one dimensional and only pass? We got less yards that was than we did running the ball
Exactly, becoming a one dimensional offense mightve been the key to winning the game. Showing them we could run against them is what they were expecting, and they knew that running the ball would not win the game for the Lions. And it didnt. Glad the stat sheet looks nice though for the running game.
I say we go backwards. Wishbone offense here we come. Especially if we can trade Matt for a Mobile QB.
Johnny Football as QB.
Joique Bell as full back
Bush and Riddick as tail backs
WEAPONS!!!!
He does mix it up. The "creative" play is the Riddick run. And there was the 4th and 2 pass play too. Run up the middle, creative run and pass just weren't executed. It's not the play call. Every single way failed.
Explain to me how that is creative? Were they not expecting a run up the middle on that play?
Not with a spread look.
Ohhhhhh so what you're saying is a should spread look on 4th and inches should make the defense worry about the pass...yeah, ok...I'm sure that works alllll the time.
It should make them think pass. It does work, just not on that play. Poor execution, not the play call. And it should have been a first down anyway on the Sims fumble recovery. Bad spot.
No it shouldn't ever make them think pass. We had like 5 inches to go. That's qb sneak territory. Never ever ever should it make them think pass.
With Calvin and Tate. Yes it makes them think pass. We just didn't execute.
