5 drops @ 70 targets....blah. His drops are way overblown. I seen a kid who at least stepped up his game and improved on his rookie year. We need this kid more than ever now if CJ walks.
And you will get Cook cheap if they plan on doing that. A combo of Cook and Ebron could be interesting. Only problem with that is that they don't block very well. Can't see it, but they need to replace that big body somehow.
I don't think Ebron's drops are overblown. Drops are a very subjective stat. Those 5 drops means that he drops about 8% of balls that are easy catches. That's too high. It does not account for balls he "should" catch.
I'll say this.....in 2 full seasons I've seen Ebron make one "good" catch (a ball he made a good play on) and drop a number of easy passes and a large number of 50/50 balls. He makes about the same amount of plays a normal reserve TE would make. Which to say, isn't many.
His hands are a BIG issue, IMO.
He did improve last year, no doubt. He still has to get a LOT better. Quickly.
