Josh Smith waived

He goes to a much better team..I like the Rockets so I guess I'll have to root for him.

Frustrating that we don't get anything for him...Thanks Joe D... Just another
garbage contract....

I was wondering about the salary cap implications and came across this.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo, the Pistons will use the "stretch provision" on Smith's contract — meaning the ~$26 million that's left on the deal will be spread out over the next five years for salary cap purposes, instead of just the next two years. With the NBA salary cap set it explode before the 2016-17 season, cutting Smith won't be as much of a financial burden as it seems. As Grantland's Zach Lowe notes, Smith will count $5.4 million against the cap in each of the next five years — which isn't a complete disaster.

The Rockets have won 4 out of their last 5..I guess that is something.. I think Smith is coming off the bench now... Still it was the right move by far by SVG..

Seriously... PLAYOFFS????

Maybe SVG was right... Bottom line we have gone 10-2 since... Hard to argue with that! Seriously, with the win tonight against the Pacers, we are only 2gb of the 8th spot... From my vantage point, not only will we make the playoffs, we will be a serious threat to the number 1 seed come playoffs. Keep in mind we are talking about the East. Who are you scared of? We have Drummond...

Still too much time in the regular season to think playoffs yet..

I completely agree with you (even though that is rare). I dislike your negative perspective on the Lions board, very tiresome/boring.

They are still 10 games below .500 and haven't secured a playoff spot, this is simply too small of a sample size to be projecting even a playoff matchup when they haven't even secured a spot yet.
