I saw something somewhere about in the last 14 votes that were 5-4, Kennedy went with the conservative justices every time...so not as much of a swing vote as people are saying. He might be the most moderate of those 5, but not different enough to call him a swing vote.

About as close as you'll ever get in today's political climate. Wasn't he pretty influential on same sex marriage and many gay right's decisions? I don't know his voting record THAT well, mostly by reputation and rulings I've read about.
