Dear John,
Marched six hours this weekend and still no sign of the enemy. We've been told they were at the golf course. It's the 120th time this has happened - must get better intel. Canadian allies made a beer-drop yesterday. xLovex
P.S. Send pretzels#secondcivilwarletters

My love,
I'm unsure you will ever read this. I was captured at the battle of Starbucks and have been forced to watch the Dukes of Hazard for what feels like eternity. When I asked for water, I was given Budweiser, when I asked for bread I was given KFC.#secondcivilwarletters

Dearest husband, we of the condo owners infantry have bunked for the night at Anytime Fitness. We will do battle with enemy at Crossfit come the dawn. We run low on Clif bars. #secondcivilwarletters

My Darling,
War is hell. The Battle of Trader Joe's lasted many days. We lost half our battalion, some to enemy fire, some to the dreaded Covfefe virus. I still live, but for how much longer I do not know.

Pray for us.#secondcivilwarletters

My love,
I?m on the front line, pinned down between Williams-Sonoma and Chili?s. We?ve incurred heavy casualties (soccer travel season thinning our ranks), but morale is high. Just stay alive. I WILL find you, even if my iPhone is at 2 percent.

Dearest mother,
After the Prius Infrantry?s batteries died we have sought shelter in Chipotle where morale is low, as we are forced to wait days for the avocados to ripen. There is word that they are coming for us with their gluten. Pray for me. #secondcivilwarletters

Dearest Parents,
The mess hall has run out of avocados so I was forced to top my toast with jam. The fog of war is so trying at times that even my therapy unicorn brings no comfort. 😢 #SecondCivilWarLetters

Dearest Will:

We await the Battle of Whole Foods and I think upon the many happy hours we spent here, searching for organic sunchokes and fresh, wild-caught salmon. How I long for your sweet kisses and a SmartWater. A kale salad would be nice, too.#secondcivilwarletter

Dearest Xbox,

War is not what Call Of Duty prepared me for.

Generals Eric and Jr. tell us we must hold the Hobby Lobby parking lot, but the Libs have posted signs saying "free beer this way." No one returns from the free beer.

My resolve is weakening.

My dearest rose, There are but few places in this heathen field for a man to charge his iPad. Worse, I fear you must imagine the lunch I am having, as the Instagrams is down. Fabulously, Heath X Buford, 1st Hipster Batallion, The Fighting Kale Wraps #SecondCivilWarLetters

Darling, While this war has been tiresome, I don’t expect it to last. Red Hat casualties are mounting. They choose not to treat their wounded brethren, instead they just scream “I’M NOT PAYING FOR YOUR HEALTHCARE” & leave them for dead. Yours Always, A #secondcivilwarletters

#secondcivilwarletters Dear General Rodham, we have gained on the enemy by building a wall of your emails, which they can't get over.

I'm glad people mocked Alex Jones' ridiculous "second civil war" claims.

you really have to question the sanity of people who could believe such nonsense; there's a big disconnect between the world as it is, and how they imagine it to be.

reminds me of the #marinetodd meme. that was a good one.

Is that what Gulo was posting about in #62?

I didn't really pay attention to it. Guess I didn't know what it was about.

You were smart to not really pay attention to it. link to summary of the thing.

He's apparently been blathering about a "civil war" for months now though. but I guess he decided to take a page from the Doomsday Preachers and predict an actual date now. Being wrong about it won't hurt his credibility with his followers, because they like to live in fantasy make-believe playland.

I guess it was supposed to have started Wednesday, on the 4th. If it's happening I'm not aware of it. Nothing seems all that different in my neighborhood or anywhere else I've been over the last three days.

These tweets seem to be people tweeting going to Starbuck and Chipotle and the kind of shit they probably have been tweeting about every day since they started their twitter account that nobody has given a fuck about and nobody still does.

Yeah, but the first I heard of the coming 2nd Civil War was that 31% link from tigermud (it's a Rasmussen Poll saying 31% of voters think there will be a 2nd Civil War in the next 5 years.)

My knee-jerk reaction is to laugh, but It's a scary stat. People are more likely to be violent when they are afraid of violence and 59% of all voters reported that they “are concerned that those opposed to President Trump’s policies will resort to violence.”

...of course, I'm not trying to make you all scared of eminent violence. That would just feed the cycle.

The tweets you posted were funnier than the ones in The Hill that MichChamp linked to. I don't think I would want to read any more of them though, it was enough.

The majority of people vitriolically opposed to Trump are tree-hugging peaceniks, even though technically a tree hugger or two has resorted to violence in the past.

Maxine Waters talks a good game about violence and civil discord, but I think she's a big mouthed wuss at the end of the day. She's been prattling on about this and that ever since the not guilty verdict found in favor of the cops in the Rodney King beating came down over twenty years ago, but in all that time I'm pretty sure she's never thrown or taken a punch herself one single time.

Kind of like Trump himself.

That’s right it was a Rasmussen poll not an Alex jones rant, I heard jones few days before the 4th ranting about the 4th being a day all the unhinged left was going to go nuts nation wide I blew him off he gets a little over excited sometimes, but his rants don’t lesson the very real trend of unhinged lefties actin all a fool. The 30 year old that attcked the 16 year old for wearing a MAGA hat the other day has been asserted and charged..good!

And imo these antifa aholes are basically brown shirts it’s all a very dangerous trend that won’t end well if it continues

I was working on a marketing study for the LA Times in the Crenshaw District when the LAPD defendants in the Rodney King police excessive force not guilty verdict was announced and Maxine Waters famously announced ?no justice no peace? and Reginald Denny was being dragged out of his truck around the corner from where I was.

A generation, give or take, later, hypothetical shit people tweet about today doesn?t worry me a lot.

I'm not sure if that's even true. A lot of people dislike Trump bitterly. I don't know if there are enough tree huggers out there to make up the majority.

31% is huge. 31% is the size of Trump's base that won't budge in their support regardless of what he says or does. 31% isn't fringe. 31% includes reasonable people that count as a jury of your peers.

Something is scaring this 31% so much they are drawing stupid conclusions. That something is probably a lot of different things put together, like decades of flat labor wages and exploding health care costs as our nation gets fatter and less athletic with 1st world life expectancies. But some of it is infotainment. To hell with Alex Jones.

I was kind of being facetious.

But I?m not worried about a fake civil war.

Like I pointed out in post #75 I already went through a real one.

Yeah, but you've got me thinking about who the most disliked person in terms of number of people. You need a certain degree of global fame. Obviously Hitler, but if we're just talking about during a person's lifetime, there were fewer than half as many people back then. Maybe Bin Laden or a Pope? I think Trump's in the top ten.

yeah, it would be silly to worry about a fake civil war. the question is, how would you feel about a real one?
